Participation in the ESC in Belarus 3

2014-03-01 | Europe3

(Enjoyable championship) The championships were held on July 18 thru 21 for four days.
The first championship was Blitz Championship held in the evening of July 18. I enjoyed the games with the players from Russia and Ukraine and finally I played with Belarusian student. I lost the game and I could not enter into the best three.

From the second day(July 18), ESC and WOSC were held concurrently with fascinating games between strong players. Five Japanese participated in WOSC and they made their social activities by playing games with European Shogi players.

Here are my impressions on the championships;
Much of the European Shogi players have a habit of noting Kifu of their own. These scenes are not witnessed in the championships in Japan. I was impressed by the eagerness of the European Shogi players.
The game begins with handshake and also ends with handshake.
Loud speech in the games are most disliked by other players. If someone speak loudly at the discussion game, as in Japan, soon other player say “Be quiet.” I enjoyed silent atmosphere of the championship and I was impressed good manners of the attendants. (Mitsuru Niizeki 2014-03-01)
