英FRC、デロイトに６．５百万ポンドの罰金（economiaより）

FRC fines Deloitte £6.5m over Serco

Serco Geografixという会社の監査に絡んで、英デロイトが、FRC(英国財務報告審議会）から６．５百万ポンドの罰金を課せられたという記事。

Deloitte has been fined £6.5m by the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) after admitting to misconduct in relation to its audit of outsourcing company Serco Geografix

監査パートナー個人にも、150,000ポンドの罰金が課せられました。

Deloitte audit engagement partner Helen George has also been fined £150,000 for misconduct.

Serco社の2011年と2012年の監査（パートナーは2012年の監査）が対象となっています。

Deloitte was severely reprimanded for its audit work on the 2011 and 2012 Serco financial statements, while George was severely reprimanded just in relation to the 2012 audit.

The FRC opened its investigation in 2016 after receiving information from the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) in relation to an investigation it was conducting on Serco’s electronic monitoring contracts.

FRCによると、デロイトとこの監査パートナーは、専門家としての能力と注意義務に関する根本原則に従って行動することを怠っていたとのことです。

According to the FRC, Deloitte and George “failed to act in accordance with the Fundamental Principle of Professional Competence and Due Care”.

デロイトのスポークスマンも、当時のSerco社の監査が、期待されている基準に満たないものであったと認めています。

A Deloitte spokesperson said that the firm recognises and regrets that its audit work on Serco at the time in question was below the professional standard expected of it.

Serco fined £19m over tagging scandal（BBC）

親会社のSerco社（アウトソーシング業界の大手だそうです）には19.2百万ポンドの罰金が課せられています。司法省との、犯罪者に電子的標識札をつける業務の契約で過大請求をしていたようです。

Outsourcing giant Serco has been fined £19.2m for fraud and false accounting over its electronic tagging service for the Ministry of Justice (MoJ).

The fine is part of a deferred prosecution deal with the Serious Fraud Office, which will end an investigation that began in 2013.

Serco had been understating how profitable the contract had been in its reporting to the MoJ.

Back in 2013 the company paid £70m in compensation to the government.

On top of the fine, Serco paid £3.7m in costs.

The firm said it was "mortified" its UK subsidiary Serco Geografix had overcharged to tag criminals.
