Zeiss Ikonta524型
戦後Zeiss Ikontaを代表するカメラの型番。通称「Mess Ikonta」(メス イコンタ)、戦前から発売されているイコンタシリーズで1・2
争う人気の機種。
撮影距離を測り出す機構が付いています。
軍艦部のピントダイヤルで、レンジファインダーのピントで合わせます。ピントダイヤルの距離表示を見て距離を出し、その距離の分をレンズに標示されている距離位置に合わせます。
この524シリーズには35mmフィルム・ブロゥニーフィルムのフォーマットがあり、35mm用は524/24(24は35mmフォーマットを示す型の枝番)。ブロゥニーフィルム用は6×9・6×6の2種類、前者が524/2(2は6×9フォーマットを表す枝番)、後者が524/16(16は6×6フォーマットを表す枝番)。
写真の縦置きが524/2型、横置きが524/16。
レンズユニットには、廉価版の「Novar」レンズ、高価品「Tessar」レンズの2種ですが、「Novar」にはレンズの明るさで2者があります。
4台並んだ内の右側2台が「Novar」、その右側がｆ4.5、左側がｆ3.5。4台並んだ左側2台が「Tessar」レンズ。
戦後には、Zeissもレンズコーティング技術が確立し「T」赤文字でレンズの縁に刻まれています。俗に「赤T」と呼んでいます。
縦置きの「524/2も同様に「Novar」と「Tessar」のレンズユニットがあります。縦長3台の左端が「Tessar」レンズです。横2台は「Novar」レンズ。この双方の違いは、「Novar」にはセルフタイマーが付いていますが、「Tessar」付いていません。若しかすると、「Tessar」付きレンズにもセルフタイマーが付く付かないにより価格差の設定があるのかも知れません。
この524型は、オークションでもたまにしか出てきません。海外の方が高値です。これは最近の傾向ですが、国内での売れ行きが極度に落ちています。此により国内での販売価格が下落しています。海外の方が正当な評価だと思います。国内事情として、デジカメが盛行していますから、フィルムカメラが急激に下落しているのがこの半年間での状況です。
