A summer linen obi with handmade cross-stitch embroidery.
It seems many people discard their obis along with their kimonos saying "I no longer wear kimono..."
Both kimonos and obis represent the skills of Japanese traditional culture. Even if you no longer use it as an obi, it can be repurposed as home interior decor, a noren (doorway curtain), room divider, cushion cover, and more.
Though the fabric quantity is limited, it can also be made into a lovely simple dress.

夏用の麻帯に施された手仕事のクロスステッチ刺繡

こんにちは、横浜青葉台の着物リメイク・着物リフォームの『ギャラリー瑠璃門／るりもん』です！

手仕事のクロスステッチ刺繡が施された夏用の麻帯。
もう着物は着ないから・・・と帯も一緒に断捨離してしまう方も多いそうです。
着物も帯も日本の伝統文化の技。もし帯として使わなくなっても、おうちのインテリア、暖簾や間仕切り・クッションカバーなどに再生できます。
生地の分量は限られますが、簡単なワンピースにお仕立てしても素敵。
