新型コロナウイルス感染症（COVID-19）に罹患された皆さまと関係者の皆さま、影響を受けられた皆さまに心よりお見舞い申し上げますとともに、一日も早いご回復をお祈り申し上げます。また、感染拡大防止や治療などに日々ご尽力されている保健機関、医療従事者の皆さまに深く敬意を表し、感謝申し上げます。そして一日も早い感染の収束をお祈りいたします。
このご時世ではありますが、久しぶりの個人的なメモは感謝の気持ちを込めて記しておきます。
理不尽な事故等で私より若くして亡くなる方も多い今日この頃、
私自身は喪中ではありませんが、
お誕生日を祝う気分にもなれず・・しかし、人生における節目、節目は大事にしなくてはとも思います。
先日無事に前期高齢者になりました！
数週間前に年金受給に関しての葉書が届いたので、速攻で投函しました。
高齢者になって良かったことのひとつです。
それから、ホストママのBaribieと娘のDebbieからも以下のメールをいただきました。
Dear Kako,
We have been thinking about you and hope all is going well for you and your family. Do you all have to isolate in your homes because of the pandemic? Do you still get to see your grand-babies? We loved seeing the early pictures of them. Do you get to travel at all?
We are doing fine. Debbie is ordering many things we need from Amazon, and they deliver it to our door. She gets a few things at the store but wears a mask and gloves. We still take walks around the neighborhood, keeping our distance from other people. Dale's family and Diane's family are safe and well.
We know your birthday is just about to start (as we are typing this note). Happy Birthday!

なんとなく不安な状況の折、深夜のメッセージがありがたく、翌朝、お礼の返信をと・・。
英語も継続して使わないと、書きたいことを書くだけでも時間がかかります。
早めにお返事をとメールを書いていると、送信前にプレゼントのパッケージが届きました。
日にちを計算したのかは分かりませんが、こういうことがよくあります。
離れ業？神業？
お礼の返信と孫のお食い初めの動画と写真を送ったところ、下記のお返事をいただきました。

当初、2組のジジババも参加予定だった孫のお食い初めは息子の家族のみでした。
