１３ 《牙》
「何なんだ、
あのハードコアなやつら！？」
ケンジが
電熱式ヤリをジャキーンと構えた。
「どう見てもオレたちを襲撃するようにしか見えない！
ギゾラよ！
これでも喰らえ！！」
シンイチロウが
先頭の物体を目掛けてライフル銃をぶっ放した。
銃声音の後、
「ギ〜ッ！！」という断末魔の叫び声とともに
後ろに吹き飛んだ物体は、
倒れたまま動かなくなった。
それでも他の物体は止まることもなく、
絶えずシュ〜ッと吠えながら
眼をギラギラと光らせて向かってきた。
雨が降りしきる中、
エミリの毒矢が飛び交い、
その中で格闘するハジメとケンジ。
シンイチロウも短剣を出して戦いに加わった。
ハジメに襲いかかった物体が
牙を大きく見せて身体に噛みつこうとした刹那、
エミリの吹き矢がその背中に突き刺さり、
痙攣した後にドサッと下に崩れ落ちた。
「ひゅ〜っ！
なんちゅう威力、サンクス！」
ハジメがエミリにウインクした。
その近くではケンジがヤリで物体の腹を突き刺したが、
相手は片手でヤリの柄を握ったままケンジの肩をもう一方の手で押さえつけた。
ケンジは直ぐに電熱スイッチを入れたが、
物体は体を少しピクピクさせたくらいで、
やはり口を大きく開いて鋭い牙で噛みつこうとした。
一瞬の後、
物体の横腹にシンイチロウの短剣が食い込むのと
エミリの吹き矢が突き立つのが同時に起こり、
力が鈍くなった物体から
ヤリを抜き取ったケンジがとどめを刺した。
１３ 《FANG》
