観察と好奇心の森カフェへようこそ

リスのリッキー、ウサギのウーちゃん、クマのクーちゃんは、調べました。

リッキーは、「研究は、“木の実のかくし場所、一番バレないのはどこだ”」と自慢のデータ帳を広げた。「根元！丸太！小石のかげ！1週間後に探してみて、見つけたのは…これ！」と、リス専用のおやつマップを披露。「匂いと、とがった石がヒントになった。でも、キノコの下にかくしたのは、湿っててちょっと…ナッツがしっとりです」

ウーちゃんの足元には葉っぱコレクションが広がる。「いちばんおいしい葉っぱの見つけ方を研究しました」「クローバーが好きなんですけど…日当たりと土のにおいと、あと風の具合で、味が変わるんですよ〜」と語る。「実験では、草むらを区画して、ひとつひとつ調べました。」

クーちゃんが「研究は、“鮭の群れ、一番効率的な捕まえ方”」「朝、昼、夕方…いろいろ試したけれど、いちばんたくさん捕れたのは、夕暮れ前の岩陰で、ドリフトしながら待つ方法」「岩のそばに寝そべって、流れに身を任せて…ピチッ！ってきたら…バシッ！と手を出すと、効率ばつぐん。」

今日7月28日は、なにやろう？自由研究の日。「うむ。科学とは、観察と好奇心。」

Ricky the squirrel, Woo the rabbit, and Coo the bear did some research.

Ricky said, “My project is ‘Where is the best hiding spot for nuts?’” He opened his special notebook proudly. “Tree roots! Logs! Behind small stones! After one week, I checked each place. And guess what? This one worked best!” He showed his secret snack map. “I used smells and pointy stones as hints. But… the nuts under the mushroom got wet. They’re kind of… soggy now.”

Woo had a big leaf collection at her feet. “I studied how to find the tastiest leaves,” she said. “I love clovers! But the sunlight, soil smell, and wind change the taste!” “I divided the grass into small sections and checked them one by one.”

Coo said, “My research is ‘How to catch the most salmon.’” “I tried morning, noon, and evening. But the best time was right before sunset.” “Lying by the rocks, drifting with the water… Then when I heard plish!—I reached out whap! and caught one! Super efficient!”

Today is July 28th. What should we do today? It’s Forest Research Day! “Hmm. Science is all about observing and being curious!”
