上記盤と同時に打ち捨てられていたもの。
「Golden Summer」とタイトルされたサーフィン/ホット・ロッドのオムニバス盤は、1976年に米United Artistsが当時権利を持っていたLiberty系の音源を中心に編んで2枚組のLPでリリースしたものが最初でした。
その後日本のキング・レコードがその企画を引き継ぐ形で同じく2枚組のLPで「Golden Summer'82」「Golden Summer'83」とリリースしていたと記憶します。
で CD時代に入りLiberty系の権利を持つ東芝EMIがその「Golden Summer」なるタイトルとコンセプトをそのまま引継ぎCD化していったのが今回購入したCDシリーズ。同じLiverty系の音源を使ったものですので内容は極めて似てはいますがLP収録曲をそのままCD化したものではありません。因みにLP、CD共に20年近くの時を経てもライナー執筆は同じ上野シゲル氏でした。
