ネパール二日目は、カトマンズからポカラに向かって出発した。
車で行った。いつも生徒に、「うちの田舎はカトマンズから車で３時間です。」とか、５時間です、とかよく聞いていた。
でもどのような感じなのか見当もつかなかった。
私たちのガイドさんは、行きは車、帰りは飛行機で、と決めてくれた。車だと飛行機で行くよりもいろいろと良く見ることができるから。
私はなぜそんなに５時間も車でかかるのか理解できなかった。地図で見ると、距離的にはカトマンズからポカラまで大したことがないように見えたからだ。
それは、どうしてそんなに時間がかかるのか、車で出発してすぐにわかることになった。
１５分もしないうちに、舗装していない道に変わり、車が恐ろしく揺れ始めたからだ！
ああ、なるほど、これじゃスピード出せないわ、、、。
The second day in Nepal, we left Kathomandu to Pokhara.
We went to there by car.
I always heard from students, it takes 3 hours or 5 hours from Kathomandu by car or by bus for their hometown,
but I didn't imagine how it takes to there by car...
Our guide decided to go by car, because we can see more the situation than go by airplane.
I wonder why it takes such a lot of time, 5 hours, because when I saw the map, the distance is not so long from Kathomandu to Pokhara....
As soon as we started to drive, I understood why it takes so long time!
After driving 15 minutes, the road changed unpaved one, the car jolted very badly!
I see, we can't drive fast on the road like this...
この日「バンダ」があると聞いていた。バンダとは、ストのことだ。
しかし、ネパール人でさえ、それが何なのか、何が起こるのか、わからないのだった。
途中で車がこれ以上進めなくなった。道路が封鎖されていた。
２時間くらい待っただろうか、やっと、車が動き出した。バンダが終わったのだ。
We heard that they will do banda, a kind of strike.
But nobady knows what it is, and how will is going on even if Nepali.
On the way, we couldn't drive anymore, the road was blockade.
We waited about 2 hours, finally cars started to move, banda was finished.
