美都美都斯 久米能古良賀 阿波布爾波 賀美良比登母登 曾泥賀母登 曾泥米都那藝弖 宇知弖志夜麻牟
又歌曰、
美都美都斯 久米能古良賀 加岐母登爾 宇惠志波士加美 久知比比久 和禮波和須禮志 宇知弖斯夜麻牟
又歌曰、
加牟加是能 伊勢能宇美能 意斐志爾 波比母登富呂布 志多陀美能 伊波比母登富理 宇知弖志夜麻牟
又擊兄師木・弟師木之時、御軍暫疲、爾歌曰、
多多那米弖 伊那佐能夜麻能 許能麻用母 伊由岐麻毛良比 多多加閇婆 和禮波夜惠奴 志麻都登理 宇上加比賀登母 伊麻須氣爾許泥
故爾、邇藝速日命參赴、白於天神御子「聞天神御子天降坐、故追參降來。」卽獻天津瑞以仕奉也。故、邇藝速日命、娶登美毘古之妹・登美夜毘賣生子、宇摩志麻遲命。此者物部連、穗積臣、婇臣祖也。
故、如此言向平和荒夫琉神等夫琉二字以音、退撥不伏人等而、坐畝火之白檮原宮、治天下也。
≪英訳≫
Then, when he was about to strike Tomibiko, a song was composed:
“In the millet fields that the Kume people tend to,
A strong-smelling leek sprouts.
Pull it out with its root and stalk,
String together the enemy in a row,
And defeat them all.”
Another song:
“In the vicinity of the fence planted by the Kume people,
The berries of the sansho (Japanese pepper) are bitter,
Making our mouths sting.
We shall not forget the wounds inflicted by the enemy.
Defeat them all.”
And another song:
“Like the tiny snails that crawl around the stones in the sea at Ise,
We will creep around the enemy,
And utterly destroy them.”
Furthermore, when attacking his elder brother Iwo-na, and his younger brother Oto-na, his army grew tired for a while. So he composed a song:
“While passing through the trees on Mount Inasa,
I kept an eye on the enemy’s movements and engaged in battle.
Now we are hungry.
Oh Ukaibe, come and help us quickly.”
Therefore, Nigihayahi dispatched his envoys to the Heavenly Deity’s child. He conveyed, “We have heard that the Heavenly Deity’s child has descended from the heavens, so we followed in pursuit.” They then presented the treasures of the Heavenly Deity’s child and paid homage to them.
Nigihayahi married the younger sister of Toyomike, named Toyomiyabime, and they had a son named Umashimaji. This individual became the ancestor of the Mononobe clan, the Hozumi clan, and the Uname clan.
In this way, he pacified the unruly gods, dispersed those who did not submit, and established his rule over the land from the Kasihara Palace of Unebi in Kasuga.
≪この英文の和訳≫
その後、ナガスネ彦を攻める準備をされている時に、以下のような歌をお詠みになりました。
「威勢のよい、久米の勇士たちよ。
アワの畑には、臭いニラの香りが漂っている。その根元に芽を植え、しっかりと根付かせてやろう(やっつけてやろう)」
また、次のような歌も詠みました。
「威勢のよい、久米の勇士たちよ。
垣本に植えられたサンショウ。
辛くて忘れられない怨みを持っている。
しっかりと根付かせてやろう(やっつけてやろう)」
さらに、以下のような歌も詠みました。
「神風の吹く伊勢の海の大きな岩に這いまわる、細螺(しただみ)のように這いまわり、しっかりと根付かせてやろう(やっつけてやろう)」
また、兄師木(エシキ)と弟師木(オトシキ)を攻める際に、軍勢は少し疲れてしまいました。そのため、次のような歌をお歌いになりました。
「楯を並べて射るイナサの山の樹間(このま)から見守りながら、戦(いくさ)を続けていると腹が空いてしまった。島の鵜飼(うかい)の人々よ、すぐに助けに来てくれ」
最後に、ナガスネ彦を攻める際には、ニギハヤビの命(みこと)が天の神の御子のもとに参上し、次のように報告しました。「天の神の御子が天から降臨されたと聞き及び、その後を追って参りました」と。そして、天から持ち帰った宝物を捧げて仕えました。このニギハヤビの命は、ナガスネビコの妹であるトミヤ姫と結婚し、ウマシマヂという子をもうけました。彼は物部連(モノノベノムラジ)、穂積臣、采女臣(ウネメノムラジ)の祖先となりました。こうして彼は乱暴な神々を鎮め、服従しない者たちを追い払い、橿原宮(カシハラノミヤ)で天下をお治めになりました。
