於是、其妻須世理毘賣者、持喪具而哭來、其父大神者、思已死訖、出立其野。爾持其矢以奉之時、率入家而、喚入八田間大室而、令取其頭之虱、故爾見其頭者、吳公多在。於是其妻、取牟久木實與赤土、授其夫、故咋破其木實、含赤土唾出者、其大神、以爲咋破吳公唾出而、於心思愛而寢。
爾握其神之髮、其室毎椽結著而、五百引石取塞其室戸、負其妻須世理毘賣、卽取持其大神之生大刀與生弓矢及其天詔琴而、逃出之時、其天詔琴、拂樹而地動鳴。故、其所寢大神、聞驚而、引仆其室、然解結椽髮之間、遠逃。
＊「生大刀」とは大国主神が根之堅州国(黄泉の国)から持ち帰った大刀で、古事記にのみ登場する。

Ōkuninushi
Then, Ōkuninushi’s wife, Princess Suseri-bime, came crying with funeral tools in her hands. Thinking that her father, the Great Deity, had already died, she went out into the field. When Ōkuninushi offered his arrows to her, she took them and went inside the large hall in the Eight-Field Plain, where the head lice were taken off her head. At that time, there were many centipedes in her head. Then, his wife took sacred wood and red clay, gave them to her husband, and told him to chew the wood and spit out the red clay. The Great Deity thought that Ōkuninushi broke the centipedes and spit them out, so he loved him in his heart and went to sleep.
Ōkuninushi grasped the deity’s hair and tied it to every beam in the room. He used 500 rocks to seal the room’s entrance and carried his wife, Princess Suseri-bime, on his back. He took the deity’s sacred sword, bow and arrows, and the heavenly-commanded harp. As they escaped, the heavenly-commanded harp brushed against a tree, causing the ground to shake and make a sound. Hearing this, the deity who was sleeping was startled and woke up. He pulled down the room and, while untying the hair tied to the beams, Ōkuninushi and Suseri-bime escaped far away.

『古事記』大國主神 4
それから、大國主の妻である須世理毘賣（スセリひめ）は、葬式の道具を持って泣きながらやってきました。大國主の父である大神（おおかみ）は、すでに亡くなったと思い、野原に出ました。大國主はその時、矢を手に取って奉じましたので、彼女を家に連れて行き、広大な八田間の大部屋に呼び入れました。その部屋で、彼女の頭のシラミを取り除きました。すると、その頭には多くの吳公（むかで）がいました。その後、彼の妻は彼に黒檀の実と赤土を渡し、彼は実をかむと赤土を含んで吐き出しました。このことから、大神は吳公をかむと吐き出すと考え、内心で彼を愛して寝入りました。
大國主は大神の髪を握り、屋根の梁ごとに結びつけました。部屋の入り口は500個の石で塞ぎ、彼は妻の須世理毘賣を背負い、大神の生大刀と生弓矢〔＊「生大刀(いくたち)」とは大国主神が根之堅州国(黄泉の国)から持ち帰った大刀で、古事記にのみ登場する〕、天から授かった琴を持って逃げました。逃げる際に、その琴は木に触れて地が揺れ、音が響きました。寝ていた大神はこれに驚き、眠っていたこの部屋を引き倒してしまいました。大神が梁に結ばれた髪を解いている間に、遠くに逃げました。
