『日本書紀』武烈天皇 4
十二月、大伴金村連、平定賊訖、反政太子、請上尊號曰「今、億計天皇子、唯有陛下。億兆欣歸、曾無與二。又、頼皇天翼戴、淨除凶黨。英略雄斷、以盛天威天祿。日本必有主、主日本者非陛下而誰。伏願、陛下、仰答靈祗、弘宣景命、光宅日本、誕受銀鄕。」於是、太子、命有司設壇場於泊瀬列城、陟天皇位、遂定都焉。是日、以大伴金村連爲大連。
≪英訳≫
In December, Ōtomo no Kanamura no Muraji, having successfully subdued the rebels, returned power to the Crown Prince. He then requested to bestow an imperial title upon the prince, saying, “Now, among the sons of Emperor Ninken, only Your Majesty remains. The people have always had only one ruler, and through the divine protection of Heaven, we have eradicated the enemies. Your exceptional leadership and decisive actions have greatly enhanced the emperor’s authority and prestige. Japan must have a ruler, and if there is to be one, who else could it be but Your Majesty? I humbly ask that you respond to the will of the gods of Heaven and Earth, proclaim a great decree, illuminate Japan, and accept the abundant treasures of this land.”
In response, the Crown Prince ordered officials to set up a throne at the Palace of Narashiro in Hase, where he ascended to the throne. On that day, he appointed Ōtomo no Kanamura no Muraji as the Grand Minister (Ōmuraji).
≪この英文の和訳≫
十二月、 大伴金村連（おおとものかなむらのむらじ）は賊を平定し終わった後、政（まつりごと）を太子にお返ししました。そして、太子に尊号を奉りたいと申し上げました。「今、仁賢天皇の御子の中で、陛下お一人だけが残っておられます。民は常に一人の君主を仰いでおり、天の神々のご加護により敵を排除しました。陛下の優れた指導力と断固たる決断は、天皇の権威と名声を大いに高めました。日本には必ずや君主が必要であり、その君主が陛下以外に誰がいるでしょうか。どうか陛下は天地の神々の意志にお応えになり、偉大なる詔（みことのり）を発して日本を照らし、銀郷(たからのくに)をお受け取りください」。
これに応えて、太子は役人に命じて、泊瀬（はつせ）の列城（ならしろ）に高御倉（たかみくら）を設けさせ、そこで即位されました。そしてその日に、大伴金村連を大連（おおむらじ）に任命されました。
