「サジェステ」と叫んだ。
指から青い光の玉が飛び出し、前を照らす。
青い光の玉は、６人の前を同じスピードで進んでいく。
檻（おり）が見えた。
鉄格子の奥に２０の青い目がうごめいている。
向こうからも青い光が見えるのか
「ガぁー ゴォー ガァー ガチャ …」
とおぞましい音が聞こえる。
６人は、とうとう檻（おり）の前まで来た。
鉄格子は、太い鉄の鎖（くさり）で吊（つり）り上げられている。
その先には、大きな岩が結び繋がれていた。
呪いの子は、呪文を唱え始めた。
「ルゥーン アウデ ルゥーン ギョウデェ …」
閉ざされし魔者は、急におとなしくなった。
呪いの子は叫んだ。
「エジェ。鎖を切って」
そして、剣をエジェに渡した。
エジェは、全身の妖気を剣に込める。
剣は、青白く光っていた。
エジェ「いくわよ」
「ギュン ギュン ギュン」
鎖は、その太さにもかかわらず「スパット」切れた。
（やっぱり、私でなきゃ）
エジェは、誇らしげだった。
（エジェなら像を傷つけられたかもしれない）
呪いの子は思った。
「ガガガガァ ドォーン」
鉄格子は、つるされていた束縛（そくばく）を失い。
地面に吸い込まれるように消える。
６人は閉ざされし魔者と向き合う。
魔者と隔てるものはない。
魔者が「ガォーン」と声をあげる。
急に、６人の方に襲い掛かってくる。
「逃げるわよ」呪いの子は叫んだ。
魔者は、開放の喜びか、それとも肉欲のせいか、
まっすぐに彼女らに向かってくる。
６人は、走り出した。
呪いの子は、走りながら呪文を唱えていた。
そのため、どこまでもついて来る。
通路は、岩だらけ、ところどころ苔（こけ）がついている。
メンディアが、苔に足をとられ転ぶ。
襲い掛かる怪物。
「ア」
エジェがメンディアの手を持ち、光になって飛び上がった。
６人、みんな、光になり飛び上がった。
メンディアは、礼お言った。
「助かった。ありがとう。」
メンディアとエジェの下を怪獣が走り過ぎていく。
呪いの子は、その前を光になり飛んでいた。
「後から行きましょ。」エジェは冷静だった。
メンディアも「そうね」ほっとして呟（つぶや）いた。
