◈芒種は、芒（ノギ）のある穀物をまく時期の意。
Bousyu　means the time to plant cereal with a spike (gut).

芒とは、イネ科の食物の花の外側にある針のような突起（のげ）のことです。
A bean is a needle-like projection on the outside of the flower of the grass family food.

つまり、芒種は、稲や麦のような植物のことを言いますが、実は、現在の藩種の時期とは大きくずれています。

◈小満は、万物盈満すれば、草木枝葉繁る

盈満(えいまん)とは、満ち溢れること.
"Eiman" is to be full.

あらゆる生命が満ち満ちていくときです.
It is time for every life to full up.


(ほかにも、同じような節目には、小暑小雪、小寒などがあります.

それぞれ、
小満は、立夏の二節前
小暑は、立秋の二節前
小雪は、立冬の二節前
小寒は、立春の二節前

です。)




衣替えは、6月1日なのでこの時期から準備しておくと良いでしょう.

◈御田植神事 (御田植祭) Otaueshinji





立夏は、八十八夜の二日後にあたります.
Rikka is two days,it will be two days
after eighty-eighth day.

この時期は、梅雨が始まる前で天気が安定し過ごしやすい日が続きます.
During the period, the weather is stable and easy to spend before the rainy season start.

穀雨は、種まきなどに適した時期で、農作業の目安とされています.
Gain rain is time suitable for seeing,it is regarded as a measure of agricaltural work.

◈穀雨(kokuu)
...春雨が降って百穀を潤す意.
Meaning to pure a hundred cereals after the spring rain falls.



春の季節の中の最後で、種まきや田植えなど農作業の準備を始める頃.
It is the end of the spring season,around the time we started preparing farm work such as seeding and rice planting.




雨に関する言葉は、数多くあります.
古くから私たちの生活に大切な食物の成長に関わって来た恵みの雨.

その一部をここに選び、説明していきます.

～雨に関する言葉～

◈百穀春雨(hyakkokuharusame)
...春雨によって百穀を潤し、芽を出させる.
Pour hundred cereals by spring rain and give buds.


◈菜種梅雨(nataneduyu)
...春になり始めに続く雨.
Rain continues at the beginning of spring.


◈催花雨(saikau)
...花々に早く咲いてほしいとせき立てるように降る雨.
Rain falls like urging flowers to bloom quickly.


◈瑞雨(zuiu)
...穀物の成長を助ける慈悲深い雨.
Merciful rain helping the growth of cereals.



～食べ物について～
About hundred



◈ ｢緑茶｣(Green tea)
...立春から数えて八十八日目の八十八夜に摘んだ｢緑茶｣は、古くからご利益がある縁起物として扱われていました.
Green tea is eighty-eighth day on the eighteenth day counting from the begining of spring has been treated as a lucky benefits from long ago.



この時期に摘まれた緑茶はテアニンが豊富で、香りが豊かなことでも有名です.
Green tea picked up at this time is famous for rich in therenine and abundant theanine.



※穀雨が終わる頃に八十八夜を迎え、この頃に摘んだお茶にお利益があります.

◈｢木の芽｣
...山椒の若葉で、サンショオールという成分で、殺菌作用が強く、胃腸の調子を整える働きがあります.

"leaf Bud"

さらに、腹痛や食欲不振に効果があります.

～百穀について～

※「五穀豊穣」の五穀とは、
米、麦(ムギ)、粟(アワ)、黍(キビ)、豆
を言います.
Fifth grain of Gokokuhoujo(bumper crop) means Rice,wheat,millet,beans.



「雑穀」は、粟、黍、稗、唐黍、玉蜀黍(トウモロコシ)、鳩麦など主穀ではない穀類の総称です.
Mirret is generic term for cereals not millet such as millet,millet,rice,mandarin,corn,corn etc.


これらを並べても、百個までは届かないので、
「百穀」は、様々な穀物、つまり全ての穀物という文学的表現ととらえるものと考えられます.

◈清明は、すべてのものが生き生きとして清らかに見える頃.清浄明潔の略.




この頃は、各地で桜が咲き、お花見が催される時期です.




～行事について～


◈ 沖縄祭(seimeisai)
沖縄地方で、旧暦三月の清明節に一族そろって祖先の墓参りをする行事.
三大行事の一つです.


士族の間で中国伝来の行事として始まったとされ、御清明（ウシーミー）と呼ばれます.




◈ 朧月夜(oborozukiyo)



朧月・おぼろづきは、春の夜などのほのかにかすんだ月.
朧月夜は、おぼろづきの出た夜.





補足:
朧月夜(oborfzukuyo).源氏物語中の人物.二条太政大臣の女(musume)の名前.





～食べ物について～


◈初鰹(hatsugatsuo)
陰暦4月頃、一番早くとれる走りの鰹.
美味で重宝される.



俳句:
目には青葉山ほととぎす初鰹.(山口素堂)(1642～171)


※山口素直(yamaguchisodou)
江戸中期の俳人.
名は、信章、号は素仏堂.庵号は其日庵.甲州の人.儒学、書道、和歌、茶道、能楽をも学び、江戸に出て芭蕉と親交を結んで芭風の成立に影響するところが多く、葛飾風の祖とされる.
