Mitsumata

This is the flower of MITSUMATA, Paper bush.
Scientific name is Edgeworthia chrysantha Lindl.
It is in bloom in my yard. There are not many red flowers.
Most is a yellow flower.
MITSUMATA, Paper bush are used as materials of Japanese paper.
KOZO becomes strong masculine paper.
On the other hand, MITSUMATA become Japanese paper with feminine elasticity, so graceful, delicate and soft.

Dry plants and Cicada

This is a dry plant in the flower vase of my desk.
The plant with the big fruit is Bletilla striata (Shiran)
and vine plant with small fruits is Paedens scandens var.(Hekusokazura).
The large brown cicada (Aburazemi) which fell in the window in summer last year is put on this plant.

Tasmanian laughed. Eh!

This name is Tasmanian Waratah.
Scientifically name is Telopea speciosissima.
Waratah of Tasmanian Waratah means Red Flower in Aborigines.
Japanese name is TEROPIA.

Parabenzoin praeox “ABURACHAN”

The snow-covered landscape are saw through the window today too.
Today you can look at a work which it's one of my favorite drawing.

This picture is Parabenzoin praeox and a beetle.
Parabenzoin means a compher.
This plant is called “ABURACHAN” and this species is only found in Japan.
It is the family of camphor tree “KUSUNOKI”.
Usually, Owing to containing camphor (Benzene), common insects hate them rather than just avoid them.
But I seemed this beetle liked it. I don’t know this beetle’s name.
