Waiting and Waiting

I find it amazing how Japanese can wait patiently in line for a long time. They wait for 90 minutes to buy Krispy Donuts in Shinjuku, 30-40 minutes at a ramen shop, and 1 or 2 hours to ring the bell at a shrine on New Year's Day. But they never jump the line, and if someone does it, they hardly say anything.

Gently Tough Ladies

I was waiting on a train platform, with two ladies standing behind me. I think they were is their 60s. Very gentle and charming. But as soon as the train arrived and its doors opened, the two charming ladies came from behind, pushed me aside, and got the two empty seats available. I was shocked, but fortunately not injured. My experience here is do not underestimate Japanese ladies, especially the ones who may look old and fragile. At times, they can be as tough as NFL linebackers!

Doctor's Visit

At some Japanese clinics and hospitals, only a curtain separates the doctor and the waiting patients. The other day when I visited my doctor, I could hear the conversations between him and other patients. As the patients were leaving, I learned that one of them had diarrhea, another had a fever, and the last one had hemorrhoids. Next was my turn. Help I need some privacy.

Cleaning Ladies

Today, I was in the men's restroom at a shopping mall and doing the usual thing when I suddenly noticed that a woman was behind me, mopping the floor. I did not know what to do and what to focus on! I still can not get used to having ladies in men's restrooms.

Busy Drivers

I think Japanese drivers are the best.
I see them brushing their teech, shaving, reading the newspaper, reading comic books, talking on the cell-phone, picking their nose, and doing much more. All of these while driving in small roads. Amazing!
And where is the police? They are probably sitting at their desks, doing paperwork.
