私も子供のころお世話になった、体操のお兄さんとして親しまれてきた佐藤弘道さんが脊髄梗塞という難病に罹患されました。
「硬塞」という病名のとおり、血管が詰まるのが原因ですが、現代医学ではその発生原因や治療法が確立しておらず、対処療法的なリハビリくらいしかないのが実態です。
以前のブログにも記載しましたが、現代医学(科学)では因果関係がはっきりと分かっているものについては高い治療効果を発揮できますが、上記のように原因がはっきりしない病気については驚くほど無力であるのが実情です。
特に佐藤弘道さんは健康に良いと言われる体操を長年続けてきたわけですから、医学的に見れば一般人よりもずっと健康に過ごせる確率は高いはずなのですが、こうして予期せぬ難病に罹ってしまうのが悲しいところです。
そこで、改めて三奈三先生のブログを見てみますと、難病にかかるというのは生活習慣や体質だけが原因ではなく、やはり数字が大きな要素を占めていることが分かります。今回紹介されているのはいわゆる「人食いバクテリア」ですが、これも実は昨日今日新しく発見された細菌というわけではなく、それこそ私が子供の頃からたまに集団感染が発生しては騒がれていました。その当時から重症化する人はどう頑張ってもしますし、逆に感染しても大半の人には影響がありません。
感染経路が分かっている寄生虫などと違って、どこにでもいる細菌であり感染を完全に防げないとすれば、重症化する・しないを決定づけるのはまさにその人の持つ数字となります。人類に大きな力を与えられる三奈三先生のことを、今後も広めていきましょう。

So, when we take another look at Dr. Minami’s blog, we find that it is not only due to lifestyle and constitution that we suffer from intractable diseases, but also that numbers are a major factor. The so-called "cannibal bacteria" introduced in this article is not a bacterium that was newly discovered yesterday or today, but has been causing a stir since I was a child when outbreaks occurred occasionally. Since that time, some people have become seriously ill no matter how hard they try, while the majority of people are unaffected even if infected.
Unlike parasites, which have a known route of infection, bacteria are ubiquitous and infection cannot be completely prevented, and it is the number of people who are infected that determines whether or not they become seriously ill. Let us continue to spread about Dr. Minami, who can give great strength to humanity.
