Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine

This book was presented by a Twitter friend of mine last year. Since then I heard a lot of positive things about it on booktube videos, and I finally started reading it last month, finishing last night.

I had so big an expectation that the book would be a good read, and now that I finished it, I feel I was wrong. The book is much more than good!!😳 It is precious. Eleanor is precious.

Eleanor Oliphant lives a quiet, decent life working as an office worker. She goes to work on weekdays, treats herself with a pizza from Tesco and some glasses of vodka on Fridays. She has no close friends. She talks with Mummy on the phone every Wednesday night. That's about it. Her life.
She is completely satisfied with her life, or so she seems.

One day, however, a coworker, Raymond comes into her life and everything changes for Eleanor. It also changes herself for good.

At first, Eleanor sounds like a little bit eccentric person sticking to her own way. She is not sociable but pretty straightforward in her words. So people might think she is strange or cold, but deep down, she is such a fragile person with a gentle heart. She just doesn't know how to show her kindness to other people because she has not been treated as such. But as she gets to know Raymond better, she starts to realize how happy she can feel about what little things other people do for her such as the warm hand on her back.

This feeling of hers when she notices other people's kindness also warm my heart, and I found myself smiling☺️
Not everything that happens to her is good, though. There are some things that tear her heart at times. But then, you will feel very proud of Eleanor becoming so strong as to deal with them!
I give Eleanor 5 stars!!😊

The Woman in The Window”

He got me. He totally got me!

For a psychological thriller, it took me much longer time to read this book than I had expected. Before I started reading, I was like, "Hmm...Stephen King says this book is 'unputdownable'! Okaaay, so it will blow my mind and I'll be finishing it before I know it!"

I was wrong.

Maybe I had expected too much.
Maybe I couldn't keep up with the vocabulary in the book(, which is probably it).
Either way, I couldn't speed up reading and enjoy the book as much, up until the last 30 pages. lol
But then, the time had come!! IT BLEW MY MIND!!
As a fan of mystery books, I love solving mysteries and naming the one who committed the crime. And I claim I'm pretty good at it. But no. Not this time. I'm totally lost, and am quite satisfied with it!😆

この本は、昨年末からすごく話題になっている心理サスペンスで、スティーブン・キングが絶賛していたので、めっちゃ期待❗️で読み始めたのだけど、最初なかなか入り込めなくて…(-。-;

When Dimple Met Rishi"

I've known this book since last year, for almost all my favorite booktubers raved about it, but somehow I didn't feel like putting my hands on and actually reading it. Until a week ago. I finally got around to it because it was one of the Romance Pack books on Audible.
Now that I finished the book, how do you think I'm feeling? Yeah, that's right. "WHAT WAS I THINKING?! WHY DIDN'T I READ IT SOONER??!!" I have to admit this is SO my book!! lol
I loved it when Dimple and Rishi first met and he had known she was his 'fiancée by arranged marriage' but she had no idea about it. I loved it when they started to realize they really fell for each other. And I loved it when they did the similar things for the other one without telling him or her.
Is the story too good to be true? Maybe, but so what? That's how I like it!; ) And Rishi is such a nice guy, I just couldn't stop grinning during the whole listening time, imagining him!😍
If possible, I would recommend you listen to the audiobook. There are two narrators with the female narrator playing Dimple and the male, Rishi, which makes the story more vibrant and real, especially near the end of the story, where they looked for each other at the same time in different places. Listening to it, I found myself so frustrated that I cried out, "Nooo, not there!" lol. Also I like their English with a slight touch of Indian accent. Sounds very cute!!; )
