改訂版COSOフレームワーク、5月に公表（JofAより）

Eagerly anticipated COSO framework set for May release

米国のトレッドウェイ委員会組織委員会（ＣＯＳＯ）が、内部統制フレームワークの改訂を承認したという記事。5月14日に公表予定だそうです。

The board of the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission (COSO) has approved its updated Internal Control―Integrated Framework and expects to issue it May 14, according to a news release distributed Wednesday.

改訂版フレームワークとともに、内部統制の有効性を評価するためのツール例や、解説資料も公表されます。

Along with the framework, COSO will release a volume of illustrative tools for assessing the effectiveness of internal control, as well as a document called Internal Control Over External Financial Reporting: A Compendium of Approaches and Examples. The compendium is designed to help users apply the framework to external financial reporting.

COSOは、フレームワーク改訂と解説資料作成にあたって、組織が、複雑性に適応し、リスクを軽減し、健全な意思決定をサポートするための信頼性のある情報を提供するのに役に立つことを目指しました。

In updating the framework and preparing the illustrative documents, COSO sought to help organizations adapt to complexity, mitigate risks, and provide reliable information to support sound decision-making.

現行の1992年版フレームワークも2014年12月15日まで利用可能とする予定ですが、それ以後は、廃止を検討するとのことです。

COSO’s board members believe users should begin using the new framework as soon as it is feasible after its release. But COSO will allow for transition to the updated framework by continuing to make the original 1992 framework available through Dec. 15, 2014. After that date, the board will consider the original framework superseded and will no longer make it available.

米国上場会社は、何らかの対応が必要でしょう。
