Birmingham City's owners' auditors BDO resign

（海外のサッカー・チームのことはよくわかりませんが）バーミンガム・シティFCという英国のクラブの親会社の監査人が辞任したという記事。監査人側は、会社から必要な情報が提供されなかったといっているようです。

The auditors looking into the accounts of Birmingham City FC's parent company have resigned from the job.

Birmingham International Holdingsは、「首尾一貫し、信頼でき、かつ、完全な」情報を会社から入手できなかったとして、監査人であるBODが辞任したことを公表した。

Birmingham International Holdings said in a statement accountants BDO had stood down, saying they had not been able to get "consistent, reliable and complete" information from the company.

６月に、BODは、「全ての関連する情報」をクラブの取締役から入手できたかどうかについて「懐疑的」であると述べていた。この点について、オーナーであるCarson Yeungは、事実ではないとしていた。

In June, BDO said it was "sceptical" whether it had received "all relevant information" from the club's directors, something owner Carson Yeung disagreed with.

記事によると、このYeungという人物は、２００９年にBirmingham Cityの支配を獲得していますが、ウィキペディアによると、香港の実業家だそうです。

監査の過程において、ある取締役が、いくつかの取引に関して、その誠実性や、財務諸表における会計処理や開示に懸念を示すようなコメントを、書面で行ったそうです。取締役会がそのコメントに関連する問題を正式に検討し解決した（あるいはその取締役によってそのコメントが取り下げられた）という十分かつ適切な証拠が、提供されなかったとBDOはいっています。

BDO added: "During the audit process an individual director made comments in writing about certain transactions reflected in the financial statements that indicated concern as to the integrity of these transactions and their recording/or disclosure in the financial statements.

''We have not been provided with sufficient and appropriate evidence that the board of directors have formally considered and resolved as necessary the issues relating to these comments, or that these comments have been withdrawn by the individual director.''

あやしげな取引があって、取締役がそれについて、問題提起をしたのでしょうか。取締役会がきちんと解決してくれなければ、監査人としてもあぶなくて意見を出せない、辞任せざるを得ないということになります。
