「当直があける」は英語で？

『１Ｑ８４』に次のような箇所がある。下はその英訳である。

私は朝の七時に当直があけて、うちに帰って眠る。
I finish my rotation at seven a.m. and then am going home to sleep.

「当直があける」がfinish my rotationと訳されている。
