Saint  Nikolaus  was  a  saintly  bishop  
of  the  fourth  century,  and  as  he  
was  always  very  kind  and  helpful  
to  children  and  young  people,  so
God  granted  that  every  year  on  his 
feast-day  he  might  come  down  to
