Dali Why is the cross section of Japanese butter rectangular, while the picture on the package shows square-shaped butter? Why?

Dali In my home, I have a butter tray to use when I cut the butter to spread on toast. But my point is that I hate this rectangular shape. I hate it because cutting the rectangular-shaped block of butter from the end results in a huge rectangular pat. We want a square pat! Even the public relations of Meiji understand the square-shape is better, as is shown in the picture on their package. So why do they sell the butter in a rectangular shape? This is my complaint. This is my criticism.
ダリちゃん 家では、わしはトーストに塗るバターをカットするときに使うバタートレイを持っている。でもわしが言いたいのは、この長方形の形が大嫌いなことだ。大嫌い。だって長方形のバターの塊を端からカットすると、とても大きな長方形の一片ができるからなんだ。わしらは正方形の一片が欲しいんだ！ パッケージの写真を見てもわかるように、明治の広報でさえも正方形の方がいいことはわかっている。じゃあなんで彼らは長方形のバターを売るんだ？ わしは文句を言いたい。非難したい。

Dali So, when I take the butter out of the package, I peel off the aluminum foil. Then, I’m forced to take a long knife to cut it in half lengthwise. Then I put half on the butter tray and wrap up the other half with Saran wrap and put it in the refrigerator. It’s the only way to have square-shaped butter to be able to readily spread on toast. Why does Meiji require me to cut it in that way? Why? Why? WHY??

Dali In the US, we never have this rectangular shape. The cross section is always square. In Japan, it’s rectangular, which is very annoying to me. Why can’t Japanese dairy product companies provide correct-shaped butter? WHY??
