When I looked up the term “black and blue” on the internet, the first thing that came up was the Rolling Stones album Black and Blue. I also found that they recently released an album named Hackney Diamonds. “Hackney Diamonds” is slang, meaning Mick Jagger explained: “Yeah, it’s like when you get your windscreen broken on Saturday night in Hackney, and all the bits go on the street…that’s ‘Hackney Diamonds.’” Coming across the broken windscreen, the owner of the car rushes toward it and flies into a rage at the mob and is subsequently beaten black and blue.
