I met the Dutch family from India at Hotel Kainarimon in good location for tourists just beside the Kaminarimon-gate in Asakusa. They are living in India due to their father's business.
Lovely three kids of elementary school students(2 girls, 1 boy) looked slightly tired from long flight journey.
Their Father is geologist and Mother is nurse The family headed to Tsukiji fish market at first. Before going around the market they took a light meal as breakfast at fast food stand Tsukiji.
In Tsukii outer market they found the tiny chopstick rest(Hashioki) shaped
Animals and plants at the chinaware shops. They chose their own favorite ones
It was a good buy at only ¥60/piece.
we got into the inner market around 11:00am so almost fishes and marine products disappeared at the shops though the kids were excited to find the big head of tuna left in the box of corner.
At the green tea shop, the staff were so kind of having the family taste fresh green tea. Mam really loved green tea and got it.
They hoped to visit Hamarikyu-garden next door but unfortunately it’s Monday when mostly public gardens, museums and facilities are closed.
Yes it’s my fault to take them to the Edo Tokyo Museum in Ryogoku on their next request, because I almost forgot it is also the public museum and closed today.
I felt so sorry but we hung around there and Sumo museum next door. They took a good pictures with background of painting wall. The kids were pretending be sumo wrestler .
“ We are international sumo wrestler dreaming a grand champion !! “
We just looked around the gate of National Sumo Stadium(Kokugi-kan) and noticed Kimono sales event had carried out in the stadium. The various Kimono shops displayed and show the customers their Gorgeous Kimono .
It was very lucky that the president of the Kimono event invited the Dutch family into the event hall that was unexpected. Some customers joined there far from country side and looked very rich(?), but there is no one coming more far from than the Dutch family ?
Master of kimono shop were kindly to let Marleen to try kimono.
She stood in admiration of herself worn beautiful kimono in the mirror The family had a fun to see Japanese formal kimono.
And then we headed to Meiji-jingu shrine by JR railway.
In the garden of Meiji-jingu, we enjoyed the beautiful iris flowers now in full bloom.
This is the sacred huge tree with straw rope.
We got spiritual power in the shrine and prayed for fortune in our life.
After leaving there they visited some other spots like Kagurazaka area near JR Iidabashi. They wished to go around possibly many spots before sundown.
I was very delighted to share the joyful time with the good natured family and inspired by heartwarming scene of the family with kids.
Thanks and good luck !!
smart kids and great Papa & Mam
