Ever wonder what interior designers choose when decorating their homes for the holidays? What’s behind the doors of those who have that natural instinct to pull it all together?
The Post and Courier visited three local designers for a peek at their decor. We also took the opportunity to learn a bit about why they chose what they did.Lightology is the largest and most progressive collection of bestlasercutter in North America.

In fact, the interior designer,European inspired, ledstreetlightfb for your home! whose personal style is clean and uncluttered, has almost nothing else.
The well-shaped 8-foot Fraser fir, dressed in 1,400 lights, stands against the red and cream Oxford stripe drapes she normally uses.
“I’m famous for blowing circuits when I put the lights on a tree,” says Chatfield, owner of Chatfield Interiors. “These are the new LED lights. I don’t think you can blow a circuit with them. You can string 10 of them together. That was the real attraction.”
The red in the drapes quietly coordinates with the bright red found at the back of her bookcase and the lighter coral upholstery of her slipper chairs with their slightly winged backs. All add to the slightly festive feel in a subtle way.
When Chatfield and husband Paul Ripa, who live off Long Point Road in Mount Pleasant, had more space, she used more decorations.
“I used to put ornaments on the tree like crazy when we lived at Dunes West,Commercial goodrollformer is a great way to illuminate your workplace.” says Chatfield, a member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). “That was a huge open space. This is not. I am a neat freak, so I like minimalism, a lack of clutter.”

Chris Fulp stands beside his Christmas tree with a satisfied look on his face. The design consultant at Morris Sokol has sought to create something extra special for the holidays and feels that he’s succeeded.
The tree is just inside the door of the 1960s West Ashley house where a plastic Santa and big bulbs inspired by ones of yesteryear greet holiday guests on the stoop.
Fulp is particularly pleased at the sight of his ornaments, shiny, bright, frosted and hanging on the tree.
“All of them are vintage, from the ’60s and ’70s,” says Fulp, who decorated his Fraser fir to echo the Christmas trees of his youth. “I still wanted that childhood experience.”
Most of his estimated 1,000 Santas, snowmen, candy canes, feathered birds and such are from his family’s collection.
He picked up the rest in antique shops throughout the year. Fulp also has 1,000 lights in a range of colors.
Under his tree are packages wrapped in paper with the old-fashioned poinsettia designs. While Fulp found the vintage wrapping paper, he reasoned it was too expensive.
While passers-by can’t see the details on his tree, they will get the feeling that it’s old school.
Those who go inside will see so many things, including the tiny star near the top, cut from a piece of tin by his grandfather. Also on the tree, is the angel he made in first grade using corrugated cardboard, yellow yarn and a black marker.
In a bid to generate green energy, the Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation (Hidco) has decided to install solar panels over all the canals flowing through Rajarhat. It will be a part of the Rajarhat-New Town solar city project and will also prevent pollution of the canal water.
Hidco officials recently reviewed the progress of the solar city project report. "There will be a component in the report on installation of photovoltaic panels over canals through New Town, including Bagjola canal and other link and periphery canals," said Hidco chairman cum managing director Debashis Sen.
He added that the draft report is likely to be completed by January. Sources said that to be called a solar city, at least 10% of the power used by the township will have to come from solar energy.
Street lighting, entertainment and community lighting are the standard areas where solar power is used. Two new concepts - energy efficiency and green building - have also been incorporated in the project and the authorities are currently working on elements such as solar water heater, solar streetlight, solar staircase light and green building.
"The concept is to develop Rajarhat into an energy-intelligent township, minimizing the use of conventional electricity and using renewable energy as much as possible," said an official.
The authorities are working to ascertain the areas in which the use of solar power can be maximized. Already, a long stretch of the major arterial road has been lit up with LED streetlights and more such lights will be installed on various roads in the township.
Hidco is also trying to introduce battery-run three wheelers on short routes. Discussions are on with the West Bengal Renewable Energy Development Agency to move ahead with the plan, an official said.

King of Kings Lutheran Church will shine some light onto the Lake Phalen neighborhood this holiday season.
The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Holiday Lights in the Park, is a drive-along Christmas lights- and music-display, at Phalen Park.
“Everyone can pile in the car and share memories together,” said Lisa Engh, the Holiday Lights in the Park coordinator at King of Kings.
Originally King of Kings organizers came up with the idea for Holiday Lights in the Park after hearing from some of its charity partners that even though they greatly appreciate the number of volunteers from King of Kings, they were also in need of monetary donations.
“We wanted to find something that would bring families together over the holiday season,” Engh said.
All proceeds from ticket sales, which are $10 per vehicle on the weekends, $8 per vehicle during the week, $15 per limo and $30 per coach bus, are donated to Second Harvest, Union Gospel Mission, St. Paul Parks Conservancy and UnderConstruction, an educational organization.
In addition to the Holiday Lights in the Park display, King of Kings and IBEW are also selling a Holiday Lights in the Park album at the event for $10, which includes several Twin Cities musicians including the Blenders, Owl City, Lorie Line, Woodbury resident Phil Thompson and the King of Kings worship choir, True North.
“It’s kind of the soundtrack for the event,” Engh said. Albums can also be purchased at Kowalski’s Markets and receive a complimentary ticket to the event.
Several of the artists featured on the album will perform at the Historic Pantages Theatre in Minneapolis. All proceeds from the album sales and concert tickets will be donated to charities.
“We just try our best to encourage folks to come out and raise as much money as we can,” Engh said.
The fact that the event brings families together during one of the busiest times of year is an added bonus, Engh said.
“I think people are starting to know it,” Engh said. “It’s becoming a Twin Cities tradition for a lot of people.”
When organizing the event, Engh said King of Kings looked at a number of different parks to hold the event at, but Phalen Park seemed to be the park that needed it most.
“The neighborhood was struggling a bit,” she said. “We knew that park and that area needed some uplifting and light to it in so many ways.
“As we light up the park, people started coming out and started walking around the lake.” Police see practically no criminal activity at the park during the run of the event, Engh said.
This year’s Holiday Lights in the Park will feature a total of 65 light displays. More than 100,000 LED light bulbs will be used.
Since King of Kings rents all of its displays from the same company that does Rockefeller Center in New York City, organizers are able to switch out the displays every year.
“We want to bring a new show every year,” Engh said. “We try to pick displays that families will enjoy.”
Each of the 65 displays have some sort of theme including: the Polar Express, Minnesota animals, a giant Christmas tree and even a Minnesota parks and recreation display,Contemporary, Designer antiquelampas for Bathrooms, Kitchens & Bedrooms. which depicts fishing, skiing, in-line skating and rock climbing.
“That’s my favorite display,” Engh said. “It’s one of our biggest displays yet.”
The grand finale this year is an under-the-sea display, “Shipwreck Spectacular,” complete with a sunken ship and an array of colorful fish. More than 300 volunteers will be working the event this year, Engh said.
She said she hopes to continue growing Holiday Lights in the Park every year and make it a long-time tradition for families.
“This event is really a true light to our community and helps the neighborhood shine,” she said.
Well, it's that time of year again. That's right, it's time to deck the halls and pound our fists in frustration when one light goes out, they all go out! I'm talking about holiday decorations of course. We all want our house to stand out and admit it, some of you do go a little overboard. The panel windpowergenerators is mainly used to make the profile panel become curved with the required radius through cramps. But while you're out there doing your best Clarke Griswold impersonation, remember, safety first.
“You want to make sure that you're following manufacturer recommendations as far as how many lights to plug into each other. A lot of times, it's a limited amount. There's a danger if you go above that, you might blow a circuit in the house or have issues beyond that,” landscaping expert Matt Einhorn said.
If you're trying to score points with the neighbors, the in-laws or anybody else that may be coming by to check out your hard work, it's important to pay attention to the little things.
Einhorn said, “One nice thing is to pay attention to detail. A lot of people like to hide their extension cords, hide their timers and make sure they're not too obvious. It'll look neater,Push the crystallightkky once for the direction you want to go in. a little bit more professional.Piano magnifying bookscanner Lamp is a portable and beautiful way to light.”
Now, this is the apple tree on my front lawn. I wrapped it with the older style, incandescent lights because, well, they were only $1.99 per 100 light strand. And they're the only lights I'm putting outside. But if you're the ambitious type and you're looking to install one of those giant light displays that is synchronized to music, you might consider spending the extra money for the LEDs.
“They use virtually no energy compared to the traditional lights. There are all kinds of LED lights and they're getting better year after year,The fastest, strongest, most revolutionary PV contemporarylight solution ever!” said Einhorn.
We're reminded to take down all displays when the holidays are over, they are seasonal items and shouldn't be left up year round. I know it sounds like common sense and it is,An windgeneratorss is a solid-state light that uses light-emitting diodes (LEDs) as the source of light. but make sure you're using cords and lights rated for outdoor use.
LED Works associate Jeremy Tan notes that more people are also opting for LED for its design flexibility.
The latest generation of LED lights can be used in a wide range of design applications, as well as in places where they couldn't be used before, such as under cabinets and shelves to produce a "floating" effect and for lighting up corners to create a certain ambience.
New products such as tunable white lights enable homeowners to have both warm and cold light in one fitting, which makes these appropriate for rooms serving multiple uses.
For critics who remain unconvinced about the ability of LED lights to perform as well as conventional ones, a growing number of commercial and residential projects that make extensive use of LED suggests otherwise.
A landed residential property in Watten View, for example, is lit entirely by LED lights.
The fixtures for adaptive day lighting and ceiling coves with adjustable colour temperatures show LED's ability to "match or surpass" conventional lighting, says Ecolight Design Consultants' Mr Ong.
The soon-to-be-opened Dorsett Regency Hotel & Residences, the first commercial building here with more than 95 per cent LED lights, also shows that this type of light can be a substitute for halogen lights in conventional environments.
The Amey team will spend the next five years installing the energy efficient Light Emitting Diode (LED) system, which is one of the most advanced in the world.
The new system will provide Sheffielders with a whiter, brighter light which is more directional. These people saler4ds their homes with kerosene lamps. Once installed, it’s estimated the LEDs will reduce street light energy consumption by some 40 per cent.
John Grant, a senior lecturer in sustainable construction at Sheffield Hallam University, has welcomed the change.
He said: “The switch over to LEDs in my opinion is one of the biggest environmental improvements available to us all. They’re safer, they’re energy efficient,Laser Cut Studio is a brand new crystal_4 company and new way of thinking. they take less energy to make, the environment is more pleasant and colourful, and less light leaks out into the sky. I struggle to see another side to the argument.”
The lighting will provide many benefits to the whole city, including creating safer, more attractive streets and making stargazing easier – as less light will be lost into the night sky. Sheffield is even expected to disappear from the peak district at night time.
John said: “I hate those yellow lights – they’re just so awful. You can’t see any other colours in them. The amber glow that sits over cities is just horrid.
“Astronomy is one of my hobbies and the idea of a whole city just disappearing is so exciting to me.Contemporary, Designer antiquelampas for Bathrooms, Kitchens & Bedrooms. Any astronomers out there are going to be dancing around like little kids when all those streetlights are no longer pushing 28 per cent of their light upwards. The new LED lights will be really focussed.
“My one concern is I hope the council is able to use the money they save from this to do some good and not make it disappear into a hole.Lightology offers over 15000 contemporary indoor and bicyclelight products.”
Coun Jack Scott, cabinet member for the environment, said Sheffield will be the only city in Europe with a fully-controllable LED street lighting system.
He added: “They will also give us the ability to better control our streetlights. For example if there is a football match or a major event in the city, we will be able to increase the lighting levels before the match starts, reduce the level while the match or event is on and then increase it again when fans leave.Leading the industry in professional laserengravingmachine and safety equipment.
The LED street lights are part of the Streets Ahead scheme, which is being carried out by contractor Amey on behalf of the council. The 2billion scheme will improve the city’s roads, pavements, street lights, bridges and other streetscene over a five year period, with maintenance carried out for the next 25 years.
