今日のみことば・世の光

またイエスは道の途中で、生まれつきの盲人を見られた。弟子たちは彼についてイエスに質問して言った。「先生。彼が盲目に生まれついたのは、だれが罪を犯したからですか。この人ですか。その両親ですか。」

イエスは答えられた。「この人が罪を犯したのでもなく、両親でもありません。神のわざがこの人に現れるためです。わたしたちは、わたしを遣わした方のわざを、昼の間に行わなければなりません。だれも働くことのできない夜が来ます。わたしが世にいる間、わたしは世の光です。」

イエスは、こう言ってから、地面につばきをして、そのつばきで泥を作られた。そしてその泥を盲人の目に塗って言われた。「行って、シロアム（訳して言えば、遣わされた者）の池で洗いなさい。」そこで、彼は行って、洗った。すると、見えるようになって、帰って行った。 ヨハネの福音書９章１～７節

John 9:1-7
Chapter 9
A Man Born Blind Receives Sight
Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
Jesus answered, “ Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him. I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay. And He said to him, “ Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing.
