ザックの大学のクラスも終わり、ちょっと一段落と言うことで
おうちの工事を始めました。
今回工事したのは
地下室の窓。
アイダホの標準に合わせて窓を入れました。
ちゃんと消防士が窓から入れるように標準があるそうで・・・
今まで見た地下室の窓より
なんか大きくてびっくり。
since zac was done with school for a couple of weeks,
we decided to work on our house.
we decided to work on our basement windows.
i didn't know that there are standards for the size of windows...
so our basement windows ended up pretty big.
i never seen windows that big in basement...
これは窓の外側の土が窓から入らないように付けるガードのようなもの。
ね、でかいでしょう？
ザックのおじいちゃんが助けにきてくれました。
この穴、ザックが結構な時間をかけて掘った穴です。
切ったコンクリートで結構うまってますが、
１８０ｃｍ位の深さです。
私落ちたら出られない・・・。

it's about 6 ft deep. it took zac a while to get it this deep.
窓の周りに必要な木材を切ってくれてるおじいちゃんです。
ザックのおじいちゃんは結構大工さんするのが上手です。
彼のお家の地下室は全部彼が建てたそうです。
ザックにいろいろ教えてくれてるおじいちゃん。

he tought zac how to put in a window in the basement!
先ほど切った木材をコンクリートに付けているところ。
ガードをコンクリートの壁につけているザック。
めちゃくちゃ音が大きかった。

窓が入りました。
finished!!!
ザックとおじいちゃん、おつかれさまでした。
約５時間かかりました。
窓を入れ終わった後、ザックのおばあちゃんが
BABY STROLLERを買うために買い物につれてってくれました。
after working on the windows,
zac's grandma took us shopping for a stroller.
トイザラスでみつけました。
カーシートを上に乗せられるので、
生まれたばかりの赤ちゃんもオッケーです。
クッションは動物の柄できにいってます。
次の子供にもって事で結構いいのをかってくれました。

こちら、私が昔、大学に行っていたときに使ってたシーツで作ったカーテン。
濃い青の部分はちょーどレースを持ってたので付けました。
i made this curtain with my old bed sheets i used in college.
i had a roll of lace so i put that on the bottom of the curtains.
このクリブは私が働いている高校の先生がくれました。
買うと結構高いのでたすかりました。
そして、ベッドにかかっているのはブランケットとゲップ用のタオル。
ザックのおばあちゃんや友達がお祝いにくれました。
a teacher i work for gave us this crib!
and the receiving blanket and the burp cloths were from
zac's grandma and my friend.

このドレッサーも先生がくれました。
本当にありがとうございます。

おまけ。
こちらはキッチン＆ダイニングです。
カーテンの布をザックのおばあちゃんがくれたので作りました。
おくの絵はザックのお母さんが描いたもの。
キッチンにぴったりだと言うことでかしてくれました。

zac's grandma gave us a big curtain material so i made the curtains!
and zac's mom drew the painting in the back.
it matched our kitchen border so she let us hang it.
そして台所。
アパートの時より全然広いのでうれしいです。

こちら地下室の様子。
これから少しずつ部屋やトイレなど作っていきます。
この家のいやな所はクモがいっぱいいることです。
この前、寝ようとベッドに入ってうとうとしていたら
頭の方からカサカサっという音がなったので
ねずみ？クモ？とひやひやしながら枕をゆさると、
大きなクモが壁にいるではないか！！！？！？！
ザックを急いで呼んでつぶそうとしたら
逃げられました。
なので次の日はザックが虫を取る物をかってきてくれました。

we are planning to put two bedrooms and a family room
and storage room and bathroom!
it will take a while but we'll work on it little by little.
we are so excited to finish it!
only thing i don't like about this house is the SPIDERS!!!
there are so many of them!
the other night, i was falling a sleep on the bed and heard
some scratching sound.
i thought it was either a mouse or a spider.
so i shook my pillow and the spider jumped onto the wall!
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!
i called zac to see if he can catch it because it was a huge spider!
but we missed it...
the next day, zac went to get some bug/spider traps.
i hope i don't see them again when i am trying to sleep...
but anyhow, we are so happy to be in our home! (^-^)
