佐世保に帰っていた時のこと。バスに乗っていたら、後ろの方から小学生くらいの男の子数人がしりとりをやっているのが聞こえてきた。
一人が言った。「し、し、しかばね。」
私はひっくり返りそうなくらい驚いた！
しかばね？！
死体ではなく、しかばね？！
言葉のチョイスが渋すぎないか？小学生にしては。
もう一人が「ね、ね、ねずみ。」
そして次の少年が「みかん！」と答えてしまい、ゲームオーバーとなった。
When I was in Sasebo, I got on the bus, I heard some boy's voice played Shiritori (a word game played by saying a word that starts with the last syllable of the word given by the previous player ).
He said, " しかばね (shikabane, dead body) ", and another said, " ねずみ (nezumi, mouse)"...
I was so surprised hear that, " shikabane?!".
Not " 死体 (shitai, dead body)" but " しかばね ". Too much literary word choice as a child...
After another boy said, " みかん！( mikan, mandarin orange)", and then this game was finished.
The last syllable of the word is " ん (n) ", the game is over.
