自其地幸行、到忍坂大室之時、生尾土雲訓云具毛八十建、在其室待伊那流。此三字以音。故爾、天神御子之命以、饗賜八十建、於是宛八十建、設八十膳夫、毎人佩刀、誨其膳夫等曰「聞歌之者、一時共斬。」故、明將打其土雲之歌曰、
意佐加能 意富牟盧夜爾 比登佐波爾 岐伊理袁理 比登佐波爾 伊理袁理登母 美都美都斯 久米能古賀 久夫都都伊 伊斯都都伊母知 宇知弖斯夜麻牟 美都美都斯 久米能古良賀 久夫都都伊 伊斯都都伊母知 伊麻宇多婆余良斯
如此歌而、拔刀一時打殺也。
≪英訳≫
When the Heavenly deity’s child (Jimmu) arrived at the great chamber of the hill of Osaka, eighty warriors with tails living in cave were proudly waiting for him in that chamber.
In accordance with the divine command of the Heavenly Gods’ child, eighty meals were presented to them. They prepared eighty trays and each man wore a sword. The cooks were instructed, saying, “If anyone hears singing, strike together immediately.” Thus, the following song was sung, and at once they drew their swords and killed:
“In the large earthen chamber of Shinobisaka,
Many people had gathered.
Even if a large group of people were to enter,
The spirited men of Kume
Wielding their protruding swords and stone swords
Would easily deal with them.
The spirited men of Kume,
Wielding their protruding swords and stone swords,
Now is the time to strike.”
They sang this song, drew their swords, and struck them dead instantly.
≪この英文の和訳≫
神武天皇が忍坂(おさか)の大室(おおむろ)にお越しになった際、尾のある穴居の者たちが80人威張って待っておりました。天の神の御子からのご命令に基づき、80人の者たちに食事が出されました。彼らには80の膳が用意され、料理人一人ひとりに大刀を帯びさせました。また、料理人たちには「歌を聞いたら、即座に共に立ち上がり、武士を斬るように」とお教えがありました。そして、以下の歌が歌われ、刀が抜かれ、一瞬で斬り伏せられたとされています。
「忍坂の大きな土室に
多くの人が集まった
どれほど大勢の者たちがが入ってきたとしても
威勢の良い久米の人々が
瘤のある大刀や石の大刀を使って
簡単に撃ってしまいます。
気勢の良い久米の方々が
突起のある大刀や石の大刀を使って
今こそ撃つ時です」
このように歌が歌われ、刀が抜かれ、一瞬で彼らは打ち倒されました。
