The units at Partridge Creek Senior Complex are already in high demand, and the three-story, 66-unit subsidized senior housing project near the Mall at Partridge Creek isn't even finished yet.

"There are already 660 applicants," said Cannon. "It's highly desired because it's behind the mall. The seniors could walk there."

The $5.5 million development, located on Dove Street near Hall Road and Romeo Plank, is being built by Volunteers of America and is expected to be completed in early 2012.

Other highlights of 2011 include the planting of hundreds of trees around Tomlinson Arboretum, and the bike path and walking trail along the 18 Mile corridor between Garfield and Romeo Plank during the spring and in the fall.

Projects like the Moravian Bridge were completed and surface work on the "mile roads" and on Hall Road were completed.

The continued success of the Mall at Partridge Creek continues to help Clinton Township's economy. The opening of new businesses like Rojo Mexican Bistro continues to make Partridge Creek one of the most profitable malls in the country, Cannon said.

Looking ahead to 2012, Cannon said a recently revised consent judgment has paved the way for a new 230-unit condo complex at Clinton River Road and Cass Avenue. He said Rose Garden Estates is a multi-million development that will begin early in the year with 52-foot lots priced in the $180,000 to $230,000 range.

He said he hopes to work with Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel regarding consolidating services like emergency dispatch, and with Henry Ford Macomb,We are an industry leader with a huge product line of fluorescent bulbs, ... the Macomb Intermediate School District and Macomb Community College on a "branding" project aimed at highlighting the 19 Mile/Hall Road west of Garfield area of Clinton Township.

"We want to continue to find innovative ways to provide the same quality services our residents and businesses have come to expect and deserve with continued revenue reduction," said Cannon. "Those communities that are active and innovative and proactive are doing just that, and that's what we are doing here in Clinton Township.
