God’s Master Key

A large house has many rooms and many doors. Each door has its own key. But a master key is designed to open any door in the building. The person with the master key can go anywhere.

The life we have is like a building with many different rooms. Each room contains the memories of important events in life. Some of the doors remain wide open, and we enjoy the memories these rooms contain.

Other doors are closed, but we have no difficulty opening them whenever we wish. There is no pain associated with the memories these rooms contain.

But some of the doors are both closed and locked. What lies behind these doors is too painful to look at, and often the key has been thrown away. Some of these rooms have names such as trauma, rejection, betrayal, abuse, disloyalty, divorce, or accidents.

People continue through life knowing there is unresolved pain behind these locked doors. Sometimes the pain was caused by others, and sometimes the pain was caused by their own mistakes. They often do not know how to resolve a situation for which they believe they are responsible. They do their very best to carry on, but as the years go by, it gets harder and harder to cover up the fact that they are hurting.

Amazingly, Jesus left us a master key—a key so powerful and effective that it can open even the most stubborn of these locked doors. But He requires our cooperation to use it.

Jesus is not frightened of the mess that lies behind the doors. He wants to go in with us and help us clean it up. He designed this master key personally for you and for me, and then He showed us how to use it.

This golden master key is the most powerful prayer on earth. It is life transforming. No circumstance is so awful or devastating that it is beyond the relevance of this amazing prayer.
