　プエルタに８年の出場停止

ＩＴＦは、今年のローランギャロスでの薬物違反により、
プエルタに８年間の出場停止を言い渡しました。

故意に薬物を摂取したから、ということではなく、
「重大な怠慢・過失」があったというのがこの処分の根拠。
（禁止成分が入っているとは知らずに、またはきちんと
チェックせずに服用してしまった、ということだと思います）

この処分は２００５年６月５日にさかのぼって下されるため、
今年のローランギャロスおよびそれ以降の公式戦で獲得した
ランキングポイントと賞金（合計約８５万ドル）が没収される。

テニス界では、プエルタ以前の薬物違反による出場停止処分の
最長は２年（カニャス）。カニャスは現在この処分を巡って係争中。

プエルタは３週間以内にスポーツ仲裁裁判所（ＣＡＳ＝Court
of Arbitration for Sport）に控訴することができます。

だけだと、まるで他の国からはまったく違反がなく、アルゼンチン選手
ばかりが薬物違反してる、と誤解する人もいるんじゃないかと思います。

破局したヒューイットとキム（クライスターズ）＞という
誤訳ニュースを信じたままの人はもういないだろうと思いますが。。。

"In accordance with the WADA World Anti-Doping Code it therefore imposed an eight-year suspension from competition, commencing June 5, 2005," the ITF said in a statement on its official website.
No tennis player had previously been banned for more than two years.
It said Puerta's results at Roland Garros would be disqualified and he would forfeit the ranking points and 440,000 euros ($523,000) prize money he won in the singles and the 3,282 euros he won in the doubles.
In addition, all results achieved by Puerta since the French Open will be disqualified and he will lose the entry ranking points and prize money of $330,925 gained in those events.
Puerta, who was ranked 13 in the ATP's entry system before Wednesday's ruling, has three weeks to decide whether to lodge an appeal against the decision with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne.

El tenista argentino Gastón Gaudio se manifestó "muy triste" por la suspensión de ocho años por dopaje impuesta a su compatriota Mariano Puerta.
"La noticia (de la sanción) me mató, no podía creerlo cuando me lo dijeron", comentó Gaudio. "Después de una serie de malos momentos por los cuales pasó, éste año había regresado al circuito, ganó torneos y estaba muy feliz", dijo el tenista que ocupa el décimo puesto en el escalafón de la ATP.
Según Gaudio "ocho años de suspensión es lo mismo que una sanción de por vida".
"Con esto que ha ocurrido, Mariano no podrá jugar más al tenis y es una gran pena. Es una gran persona, un excelente tenista", finalizó.

「不注意による投与」であっても、８年。。。
The independent Anti-Doping Tribunal rejected a defence of No Fault or Negligence, but accepted an alternative plea of No Significant Fault or Negligence.
プエルタ側の「怠慢・過失なし」という主張は却下されたが、「重大な怠慢・過失」という申し立ては受け入れられた。

ＩＴＦの声明によると、独立の審査委員会が１２月６、７両日ロンドンで開いた公聴会で、興奮剤のエチレフリンの使用が確認された。
アルゼンチンの選手がドーピング検査で陽性と判定されたのは、この５年間で５人目。
