光になった、森の心

リスのリッキー、ウサギのウーちゃん、クマのクーちゃんは、ガラス彫刻に挑戦します。

リッキーの「木の実のきらめきボウル」集めたナッツの気持ちを表した切子。光を受けて、琥珀色から夕焼け色にグラデーションが移ろう表面には、粒のような魚子文様のツブツブが、ナッツの粒みたいにキラキラ輝く。笹の葉文様がスーッと鉢のふちをなぞり、光の角度で木漏れ日みたいに揺れる。小鉢にナッツをそっとのせます。

ウーちゃんの「ハッピーキャロットグラス」人参色と水色が優しく混ざった、ころんと丸いタンブラーは、揺れるたびにまるで光のブレイクダンス！麻の葉文様がきりりと走り、菊つなぎがグラスの底からふんわり立ち上がる。「この模様、元気と幸せを結んでるの」と軽やかなステップ。

クーちゃんの「森の賢者ロックグラス」深い瑠璃色からスモークグレーへと変わるその表面には、鋭い矢来文様がまっすぐに刻まれている。まるで森を守る柵のよう。グラスのふちには八角籠目が連なり、見る角度によって虹色の光がほのかに跳ね返る。「森の知恵と静けさを閉じ込めたグラスなんだ」

今日7月5日は、江戸切子の日。「切子って、生き方を彫った輝きなんだね」



Light in the Forest Hearts


Ricky the squirrel, U-chan the rabbit, and Kuu-chan the bear try making glass carvings.

Ricky’s bowl is called “Sparkling Nut Bowl.” He says it shows how special nuts feel! Its color softly changes from honey brown to sunset orange. Tiny dot patterns shine like little nuts, and leaf shapes around the edge glow like sunlight through trees. He gently places nuts inside the bowl.

U-chan’s cup is the “Happy Carrot Glass.” It’s round and smooth, with carrot orange and sky blue blending together. When it moves, the light dances like a fun show! Strong leaf shapes and soft flower lines sparkle together. “These patterns connect happy and healthy feelings,” U-chan says, hopping with a smile.

Kuu-chan shows his “Forest Wise Rock Glass.” Its deep blue turns smoky gray like shadows in the woods. Sharp straight lines protect the glass like forest fences, and star-like shapes along the rim shine with soft rainbow light. “This glass holds the forest’s quiet and smart heart,” he says gently.

Today is July 5th—Edo Kiriko Day. “Kiriko glass is like carving our hearts into light.”
