リスのリッキー、ウサギのウーちゃん、クマのクーちゃんは、料理を工夫します。

リッキーの「ナッツー納豆ブレッド」ホットケーキミックスの生地にペースト納豆と砕いたクルミ・アーモンド・カシューナッツをたっぷり混ぜ込んだふんわりブレッド。メープルシロップでほんのり甘さを加え、シナモンパウダーをふりかけて焼き上げると、焼きたての香ばしさと納豆のねばもちは絶妙。表面はカリッ、中はもっちり。

ウーちゃんの「ベジタブル納豆ラップ」ライスペーパーに敷いたレタスの上に、納豆、細切りのパプリカ、キュウリ、ニンジン、コーン、ひよこ豆を色とりどりにのせたヘルシーラップ。納豆はタレとポン酢、ちょっぴりマヨネーズを合わせて混ぜ、耳でふわっと空気を入れながら優しくくるくる包みます。

クーちゃんの「ベアーズ・マッシュルーム納豆丼」大きな葉っぱのフライパンでしめじ・舞茸・エリンギをバターでじっくり炒め、納豆と一緒に醤油とみりんで香ばしく混ぜ炒め。あつあつご飯に豪快にのせて、温泉卵をぽとり。「ハチミツちょびっとがクマ流」と回しかけます。

今日7月10日は、納豆の日。アレンジに驚いて、楽しい一日を過ごしました。



When We Mixed It, the Forest Smiled


Ricky the squirrel, U-chan the rabbit, and Kuu-chan the bear are trying fun ways to cook with natto.

Ricky’s “Nutty Natto Bread” He mixes fluffy pancake batter with natto paste and crushed walnuts, almonds, and cashews. A little maple syrup makes it sweet, and cinnamon on top makes it smell nice. He bakes it until the outside is crispy and the inside is soft and sticky. “It’s a nutty, sticky hug!” says Ricky with a happy tail wiggle.

U-chan’s “Veggie Natto Wrap” She lays lettuce on rice paper and adds natto, red and yellow bell peppers, cucumber, carrot, corn, and chickpeas. She mixes the natto with sauce, ponzu, and a tiny bit of mayo, then wraps it gently. She fluffs it with air using her long ears. “It’s colorful, crunchy, and funny!” she giggles.

Kuu-chan’s “Bear’s Mushroom Natto Bowl” He fries shimeji, maitake, and eringi mushrooms in butter on a big leaf-pan. Then he adds natto, soy sauce, and mirin. It smells warm and tasty! He piles it on hot rice, drops in a soft egg, and says, “A little honey makes it bear-style!”

July 10 is Natto Day. Everyone laughed and smiled, surprised by so many tasty ideas from the forest!
