森のてんきステージ

リスのリッキー、ウサギのウーちゃん、クマのクーちゃんは、天気に敏感です。

リッキーの「どんぐり予報ステージ」。どんぐりを山盛りにして「今年はどんぐりがいっぱい。これは、寒い冬が来るサインです。寒くなる前にどんぐりをたくさん埋めます。」どんぐりの埋め方講座では、「雪の下はふわふわ。どんぐりが転がっちゃうこともあるので、深く埋めます。」

ウーちゃんの「ふわふわセンサーショー」。耳をぴょこぴょこ動かしながら「今朝は毛がちょっと重たいの。空気がしっとりしてる証拠」足元の土をそっと踏んで、「冷たくて、ちょっとぬれてる。夕方には雨が来るかも」草の葉がくるんと丸まっているのもヒント。「こんな日は、巣穴の入り口に葉っぱを敷いておきます」

クーちゃんの「冬眠チェック講座」。お腹をぽんぽん叩いてにっこり「今年は木の実がいっぱい。おかげでお腹もふっくら。こんな年は、雪がたくさん降ることが多いんだよ」去年の冬眠日記を見せながら、冬の始まりを予測して、「お腹が重くなったら、そろそろ冬眠の準備」

今日8月28日は、気象予報士の日。 森の仲間たちは、自然の変化を感じる力を、楽しみながら学んだのでした。



Forest Weather Stage


Squirrel Ricky, Rabbit Woo-chan, and Bear Koo-chan are very good at feeling the weather.

Ricky’s “Acorn Weather Show” begins! He piles up lots of acorns and says, “This year, we have so many acorns. That means a cold winter is coming! Before it gets cold, I will bury many acorns.” In his acorn-burying lesson, he explains, “Under the snow, the ground is soft. Sometimes acorns roll away, so I bury them deep.”

Woo-chan’s “Fluffy Sensor Show” is next. She wiggles her ears and says, “This morning, my fur feels a little heavy. That means the air is wet.” She gently steps on the ground and says, “It feels cold and a little wet. Maybe it will rain in the evening.” She also shows a curled leaf and says, “On days like this, I put leaves at the entrance of my burrow.”

Koo-chan’s “Hibernation Check Class” is last. He pats his belly and smiles. “This year, we have lots of nuts. My belly is round and full. That means we may get lots of snow!” He shows last year’s hibernation diary and says, “When my belly feels heavy, it’s time to get ready for sleep.”

Today is August 28th—Weather Forecaster Day! The forest friends had fun learning how to feel the changes in nature.

森のひんやりおやつ屋さん

リスのリッキー、ウサギのウーちゃん、クマのクーちゃんは、ひんやり甘いひと時を楽しみます。

リッキーは「どんぐりジェラート」。ヘーゼルナッツとマロンペーストが混ざり合い、口に入れると香ばしさとほのかな甘みがふわっと広がります。砕いたナッツとマロングラッセがちょこんと乗り、本物のどんぐりのよう。木の実型のカップをくるくる回しながら踊ると、ナッツの香りが風に乗って広がります。

ウーちゃんは「にんじんジェラート」。にんじんの自然な甘みとマンゴーのとろける果実感が合わさり、ひと口で爽やかな風が吹き抜けるよう。にんじん型のミントの葉を添えたジェラートが、畑風のカップからぴょんと飛び出す姿は、土から顔を出した新鮮なにんじんです。

クーちゃんは「はちみつジェラート」。アカシアとレンゲのはちみつがとろりと混ざり、濃厚なのに後味はすっきり。表面には蜂の巣模様のココアパウダーが描かれ、ハニーコムクランチがカリカリとした食感を添えます。蜂蜜ポット型の容器を抱えて、太鼓をドン！ 甘い香りが広場を包みます。

今日8月27日は、ジェラートの日。ジェラートは、森の恵みが詰まった、五感で楽しむごちそうでした。


The Forest's Cool Treat Shop


Ricky the squirrel, Woo the rabbit, and Koo the bear are enjoying a cool and sweet moment in the forest.

Ricky has an acorn ice treat. It’s made with hazelnuts and chestnut paste. When he takes a bite, the nutty smell and soft sweetness fill his mouth. On top, there are crushed nuts and a tiny sweet chestnut. It looks just like a real acorn! Ricky spins his nut-shaped cup and dances. The smell of nuts floats in the air.

Woo has a carrot ice treat. It’s made with sweet carrot and soft mango. One bite feels like a fresh breeze! The treat looks like a carrot with a mint leaf on top. It jumps out from a garden-style cup, just like a carrot popping out of the soil.

Koo has a honey ice treat. It’s made with acacia and lotus honey. It’s rich but leaves a light taste. On top, there’s a honeycomb pattern made with cocoa powder, and crunchy honeycomb bits. Koo holds a honey pot-shaped cup and hits a drum—Boom! The sweet smell spreads all around the forest.

Today is August 27th—Ice Treat Day! These cool treats are full of forest gifts, and they are a joy for all five senses.

森のホステルで、こんにちは

リスのリッキー、ウサギのウーちゃん、クマのクーちゃんは、森のユースホステルを盛り上げます。

リッキーの「どんぐりマップ」。ふくろの中から色とりどりのどんぐりを取り出して、「泊まったリスたちが書いた“お気に入りスポット”なんだ！」と、地図の上にどんぐりを並べます。「ここ、行ってみたい！」「知ってる！」と声をかけ合い、地図のまわりに輪ができます。

ウーちゃんの「にんじん掘りゲーム」。畑に小さな旗を立てながら「チームで協力して、にんじんを掘り出すゲームだよ」。初めて会った動物同士が、さっそく土を掘り始め、「こっち、かたい」、「交代しよ」、「にんじん見えたー」、 声をかけ合いながら、笑い合います。

クーちゃんの「森のユースホステルフェス」、 森の奥から招待した動物たちと一緒に登場。「ホステルの外にも、仲間がいるよ。今日はみんなでフェス」ステージでは、モモンガの空中ダンス、カエルの合唱隊、タヌキの太鼓演奏。食事を分け合い、歌を口ずさみながら、みんなが自然につながっていきます。

今日8月26日は、ユースホステルの日。動物たちは、泊まるだけじゃない“つながる場所”を、笑顔で伝えました。



Hello from the Forest Hostel


Ricky the squirrel, Woo the rabbit, and Koo the bear are making the forest hostel a fun place to stay.

Ricky’s “Acorn Map” Ricky takes out colorful acorns from his little bag. “These are favorite places written by squirrels who stayed here!” he says, placing the acorns on a big map. “I want to go here!” “I know this spot!” the animals say, gathering around the map in a happy circle.

Woo’s “Carrot Digging Game” Woo puts small flags in the field. “This is a team game. Let’s dig up carrots together!” she says. Animals who just met start digging the soil. “This part is hard!” “Let’s switch!” “I see a carrot!” They laugh and help each other as they play.

Koo’s “Forest Hostel Festival” Koo comes with animal friends from deep in the forest. “There are friends outside the hostel too. Today is a big forest festival!” On stage, a flying squirrel dances in the air, frogs sing in a chorus, and raccoons play the drums. Everyone shares food and hums songs. Little by little, they all feel connected through nature.

Today is August 26th—Youth Hostel Day in Japan. The animals show that a hostel is not just a place to sleep, but a place to meet, share, and smile together.

動物たちの、あつい一句

リスのリッキー、ウサギのウーちゃん、クマのクーちゃんは、暑さと戦います。

リッキーは、「木の上で　風をあつめて　くるみ冷やす」木の高い枝にくるみを並べ、風通しの良い場所で自然冷却を試みます。しかし、昼を過ぎる頃には、くるみの表面がじんわり熱を帯び、触ると「あちっ！」と跳ねるほど。「風よりも　日差しが強くて　くるみ焼けた」

ウーちゃんは、「耳ひろげ　風をあおいで　みんな冷やす」広場の真ん中で耳を左右にぱたぱたと動かし始めた。まるでうちわのように、風を起こそうと必死に耳を振る。風はほんのりぬるく、むしろ耳の根元が熱を持ち始めた。氷を耳に当てながら、ぽつり。「あおいでも　風はぬるくて　耳が熱い」

クーちゃんも、「川に立ち　サーモン待ちながら　足ひやす」 朝から川に立ち、冷たい水に足を浸していた。水の流れが心地よく、サーモンが来れば、夕飯も涼も一石二鳥！ しかし、日が傾いてもサーモンは現れず、川の音だけが静かに響く。「涼しいが　サーモン来なくて　腹が鳴る」

今日8月25日は、川柳発祥の日。動物たちはそれぞれの“失敗川柳”を胸に、“秋の川柳大会”を楽しみに、新たな知恵を練るのでした。



The Animals’ Hot Senryu Poems


Ricky the squirrel, Woo the rabbit, and Ku the bear are trying to beat the summer heat.

Ricky said: "Up in the tree, I gather wind to cool my walnuts." He placed his walnuts on a high branch, hoping the breeze would cool them down. But by noon, the shells were warm and shiny. When he touched one—“Ouch!” he jumped. "The sun was stronger than the wind. My walnuts got roasted!"

Woo said: "I flap my ears to make wind and cool everyone." In the middle of the field, Woo flapped his big ears left and right like a fan. He tried so hard to make a breeze, but the wind was only warm. His ears started to feel hot. He pressed an ice cube to one ear and whispered, "Even when I flap, the wind is warm and my ears are hot."

Ku said: "I stand in the river, waiting for salmon, cooling my feet." Since morning, Ku stood in the cool water, hoping a salmon would swim by. If one came, he’d have dinner and stay cool—two wins! But even as the sun went down, no salmon appeared. Only the sound of the river flowed quietly. "It feels cool, but no salmon came. My tummy is growling."

Today is August 25th—the day senryu poems were born. Each animal holds their “funny little poem” close to their heart. They are already thinking of new ideas for the Autumn Senryu Contest.

senryu (川柳 / Senryū): A short, funny Japanese poem with 3 lines. Each line has a rhythm of 5, 7, and 5 syllables. Senryu poems are often about everyday life and silly moments.

香りとコクと、森のひとさじ

リスのリッキー、ウサギのウーちゃん、クマのクーちゃんは、サラダを工夫します。

リッキーの「森の恵みと軽やかなハーモニー」
ベビーリーフに、くるみ、アーモンド、ヘーゼルナッツが散りばめられ、ドライクランベリーといちじくが輝き、白いカッテージチーズが乗っています。深い赤紫色のドレッシングは、「ラズベリーとストロベリーの甘酸っぱさに、バルサミコのコク、そして、はちみつ」

ウーちゃんの「大地の恵みと優しさの調和」
グリルした根菜たち、甘みがぎゅっ。ロメインレタスのシャキッとした歯ざわり、ひよこ豆のほくほく感、ディルとパセリが緑のアクセントと爽やかな香りを楽しみます。淡いクリーム色のドレッシングは、「ヨーグルトとハーブのクリーミードレッシング」

クーちゃんの「川の恵みと濃厚なコク」
グリルサーモンとワイルドライス。ミックスリーフの緑がサーモンの色を引き立て、カッテージチーズとナッツがコクと香ばしさを加えます。黄金色のドレッシングは、「ハニーマスタードとディルの濃厚ドレッシング」

今日8月24日は、ドレッシングの日。森の動物たちは、味で語り、香りで笑い、ドレッシングで心をつなぎました。



A Spoonful of Forest Flavor


Ricky the squirrel, Woo the rabbit, and Koo the bear are making special salads.

Ricky’s Salad: “Forest’s Gift and a Light Harmony”
Baby leaves are sprinkled with walnuts, almonds, and hazelnuts. Dried cranberries and figs shine like little jewels. On top sits soft white cottage cheese. The deep red-purple dressing is made with: “Sweet and sour raspberries and strawberries, rich balsamic, and a touch of honey.”

Woo’s Salad: “Earth’s Gift and Gentle Balance”
Grilled root vegetables are sweet and warm. Romaine lettuce gives a crispy bite. Chickpeas are soft and fluffy. Fresh dill and parsley add green color and a nice smell. The light creamy dressing is: “Yogurt and herbs in a smooth, gentle mix.”

Koo’s Salad: “River’s Gift and Rich Flavor”
Grilled salmon and wild rice sit on green leafy mix. The pink salmon shines next to the green leaves. Cottage cheese and nuts add rich taste and a little crunch. The golden dressing is: “Honey mustard and dill in a thick, tasty blend.”

Today is August 24th—Dressing Day! The forest friends speak with flavor, smile with scent, and share their hearts with a spoonful of dressing.
