中国政府が、恒大集団の監査をめぐって、PwCに巨額罰金を科すとともに、業務一時停止の処分を行うという記事。
「中国政府は不動産開発大手の中国恒大集団への監査を巡り、国際会計事務所プライスウォーターハウスクーパース（ＰｗＣ）に会計事務所に対するものとしては最大規模の罰金を科すとともに、中国本土オフィスの一部で業務を一時停止させる方向だ。事情に詳しい複数の関係者が明らかにした。」
罰金は「少なくとも10億元（約220億円）」とのことです。今週にも正式発表されるようです。

China is weighing a record fine for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) and suspending some of the auditor's local operations over its role in auditing troubled property developer China Evergrande Group (3333.HK), Bloomberg News reported on Thursday.

PwCに限らず、ビッグ４に対して中国当局は締め付けを強めているようです。
The China businesses of US-linked auditors have taken a hit since Beijing began tightening rules last year around cross-border auditing work that involved cybersecurity. Last January, the finance ministry and other government entities also urged state-owned firms to phase out their contracts with PwC, Deloitte, EY, and KPMG, known collectively as the “big four” accounting firms.
