This  very  thing  had  troubled  me  all
these  weeks : 　that   the   family  met 
only   at   meal-times.   Otherwise,  the 
children   were   not   supposed  to  be  
together.   The  boys   had  to  keep  to 
their  room,   the  older  girls  to  theirs,  
and   they   were 　told   by   Baroness  
Matilda  time  and  again  that  they  had
no  business  in  the  nursery  with  their 
little  sisters.
