Run Like the Wind!!

2019-11-21 15:49:42 | 2019

On November 7th Grade 6 and Grade 3 ran a marathon in the school playground.

There were many parents there to watch the marathon.

We do this every year so we feel we have had a challenged ourselves to do something which we don't normally do.

The marathon is very tough, but after we finished we all felt so happy because we did our best.

^Grade 6 girls running hard.

We asked a Grade 6 student about this marathon.

Q: How was it?

A: It was very tough and hard work, but I learned that I shouldn't ever give up even though it is a difficult thing to do.

Q: Did you do your best?

A: Yes, I did. It was my last marathon in Elementary School so I tried my best.

I think we can have a strong heart which can challenge so many difficult things after completing this marathon.

We believe we can challenge to do many thing and have fun at the same time.

Interesting lesson about trade between countries.

2019-11-20 08:58:39 | 2019

On October 7th we had a class from a Junior High School teacher.

In the 5C class Mr. Van De Velde (a Junior High School teacher) came and taught the 5C students a Social Studies class about trade with other countries.

We learned about how countries trade things (export) when we have enough, and import things which we need.

We went around the classroom doing an activity where we had to export things we didn't need and import things which we needed.

^Mr. Van De Velde teaching.

Mr. Van De Velde gave a piece of paper to each group which had written the things which we needed.

We talked to a Grade 5 student about the lesson:

Q: Was it fun?

A: Yes. It was interesting too.

Helping the blind

2019-11-20 08:55:32 | 2019

Grade 4 students met Mr. Fujii. He is blind.

He told us about his guide dog, and how to read Braille.

He was the first person in Fukuoka City to use a guide dog.

If we meet blind people in the future then we want to help them.

We had our first Prayer assembly in Term 2.

The Prayer committee organised time at lunch when we could pray for other people.

We talked to a Grade 6 girl who went to the assembly.

Q: What did you feel after going to the prayer assembly?

A: I felt that it was a good chance to think about other people.

I want to join the assembly again.
