Our English class in the Media Room.

On May 11th 5C went to the Media room to search about their favorite people.

Mr. S taught us how to make a Powerpoint presentation.

^Mr. S is teaching us how to use computers and Powerpoint.

We typed and searched about a famous person, and then made a page about it.

It was our second class of doing this, but noody is finished yet.

There were many famous people who I didn't know!

^Everyone is working on their page really hard.

We had a great time learning how to use Powerpoint on the computers.

We interviewed a Grade 5 student about the lesson.

Q1) How was the English class?

A1) It was fun, and it was exciting to search about a famous person.

Q2) Was there anything which was hard, but fun?

At first it was hard to type, but after a while it was fun!

 

I thought it was so exciting too!

It was exciting to know so many facts about my favorite famous person.

I want to spend more time on it.

An Active Math Power UP!!

Grade 5 and 6 weer throwing balls for Maths class.

It was to measure the length and use algebra to calculate how many points it would get in a triathlon.

Everyone was throwing the ball hard.

The teachers were running around to check the length of the throw.

Some people threw 32m!!

It felt kind of dangerous because the balls were soaring around the sky!

We interviewed a Grade 6 student about the class:

Q1) Did this lesson make it more interesting to learn Math?

A1) Yes, because we could learn by having fun!

Q2) What was the good thing about learning Math and PE at the same time?

A2) We could have fun and learn at the same time so it made it more exciting.

 

I think this way we could move our body and learn at the same time, so it was a great way to learn Maths.

I prefer this way to learn because I can have fun!

The first Science class of Grade 5!

On April 13th 5C had their first Science class of the year.

They were studying about weather and temperature in the lesson.

In the Science class they went to the playground and looked at the weather station.

^Mr. S teaching us about weather and temperature.

After looking at the weather station they used compasses to find which direction the clouds were moving in.

We interviewed some 5C girls about the lesson. The first girls said "I love clouds!" and another girls said "It was an interesting and exciting Science class!"

Grade 6 learn about combistion in Science class.

Grade 6 are learning about combustion in Science class.

They are using goggles because they need to use fire in this unit.

They practiced how to use matches because it could be very dangerous if they made a mistake.

They learned how the smoke moves, and learns what a fire needs to keep burning.

To watch the air moving they used incense.

We interviewed a Grade 6 student about it:

Q) Was it fun?

A) It was really fun!

Q) What was the most interesting thing?

A) Using the jar and seeing how the smoke moves, and seeing what the fire needed to keep burning.

They really enjoyed it!

 

We think that learning this unit is a great experience.

However it is also dangerous if you are not careful so I thought that to learn this interesting work we must beware that it is dangerous.
