Pixel 2 is likely to have dual rear camera setup of 12 megapixels each, whereas the front camera will be 7 megapixels. The rear cameras will be placed vertically one after the other, along with a flash at the bottom of the cameras.

Further, the device might feature a circular fingerprint sensor at the rear end, unlike its previous model, wherein the fingerprint sensor was embedded in the display. Recollecting previous rumours, Pixel 2 might eliminate a 3.5 headphone jack. We can also notice the antenna lines running at the top and bottom of the phone.

Earlier the leaks had pointed out that the phone will pack a 4GB of RAM; however, the video speaks of the possibility that the ipad replacement screen would come with a 6 GB RAM, 128 GB internal memory and a 3,800 mAh battery capacity. The screen could have a QHD resolution, with a 5.7-inch display.

Earlier Rick Osterloh, senior vice president of hardware, Google had confirmed that there would be a new Pixel this year. The various conjectures claim that the new design is likely to give a fierce competition to other tech giants; however, how much of it will come true, only time can say.

iPhone 8: Patent floats yet another potential Touch ID location

2017-06-15 10:38:41 | Samsung Galaxy S8

With it seeming ever-more-certain the company will ditch the traditional home button, there have been multiple alternate locations touted on the rumor mill.

The most favoured opion is within the display itself, which is believed to be Apple’s preferred solution, should it overcome the technical challenges involved.

iPhone 6

For a while, folks thought it might be on the rear of the device, but alleged component and case leaks appear to have shot that down.

A third possibility appears to be a smaller display, such as the MacBook Pro’s Touch Bar, but that seems even less likely ipad battery replacement .

So, allow us to introduce to option four; a fingerprint sensor within the… power button?

Yes, Apple has been granted a patent for a fingerprint sensor within a power button on the top of a mobile device (via Patently Apple).

The patent, entitled ‘Finger biometric sensor assembly including direct bonding interface and related methods,’ was published today.

It explains a method for placing the fingerprint sensor within a button, while the diagram to accompany the filing seems to show it in action.

How this solution would work remains to be seen. Obviously, the power button is too slim to accommodate a full finger print, so it seems unlikely Apple would go down this route, unless there was some mechanism for sliding a finger across the sensor perhaps?

Our money is still on Apple getting the in-display sensor technology right, even if it comes at the expense of an iPhone 8 iPad Mini parts release delay.
