Apart from this, LG is also planning to hold pre-order sales for V30 in South Korea, which will also be a first for any phone from V-Series, in an attempt to promote V30, as per the report.

LG has been tipped to hold pre-order sales for "about a week or two" via three South Korean mobile network providers after the launch event of V30. ETNews has suggested that the smartphone will be officially released in South Korea during September. Notably, the report has not mentioned whether there will be pre-order sales for other markets as well.

OnePlus Just Showed Samsung & Apple How It’s Done

2017-06-22 10:25:02 | Samsung Galaxy S8

Look at the specs, the industrial design, the attention to detail… the camera. Stacked up, everything appears to look VERY expensive. Like, iPhone/Galaxy S8 expensive. But it isn’t. The OnePlus costs £450.

Let’s just take that in for a second: a screen repair , with brilliant specs and a great design, will go on sale on June 27 for £450 – almost half what the new iPhone 8 will cost when it joins the party in September.

So, if you value your money but also like high-end technology, the OnePlus 5 is kind of a no-brainer; it has better specs than the iPhone 7, similar performance attributes to both that phone and the Galaxy S8, great styling, and it costs a lot less.

I know, I know – we say this every year: OnePlus is cheap, so very, very cheap compared to the more traditional players in the space. But this year it is slightly different; OnePlus has sorted out the camera – and that is a big deal.

“We design each of our flagship smartphones with premium quality in mind, both on the inside and outside, and we are happy to continue our long history of working with Qualcomm Technologies by selecting the Snapdragon 835 for its ability to drive a truly premium smartphone experience in the OnePlus 5,” said Kyle Kiang, global head of marketing, OnePlus. “It's optimized functionality and top-notch performance is a perfect fit for our mantra to never settle for second-best experiences in our products.”

There are other issues to consider, however, when buying a OnePlus handset, chief among them OnePlus’ well documented sub-par customer service. If you can get past this – either through insurance or by picking up a network-branded handset – you're in for a treat, though.

This, at least, to me, looks to be the phone OnePlus has been trying to make since day one. It appears to have it all: specs, performance, design and, finally, a camera that can compete with Apple and Samsung’s efforts.

Here’s what Qualcomm had to say about the new OnePlus 5:

“We’re pleased that OnePlus has selected the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform to power their upcoming premium flagship Smartphone parts , delivering some of the most advanced and immersive user experiences possible,” said Alex Katouzian, senior vice president and general manager, mobile, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.

“It also enables support for next-generation entertainment experiences and connected cloud services.”

iPhone 6S melts in direct sunlight

2017-06-21 09:46:29 | Samsung Galaxy S8

Some parts of the world are currently boiling.

Why, some smaller jets can't even land at or takeoff from Phoenix Airport because it's 120 degrees. In the UK, of course, a heatwave is anything over 70. Brits begin to burn at that temperature.

Still, it seems that one Apple customer didn't quite appreciate that her iPhone 6S might also be susceptible to a little sunstroke when it's 86 degrees outside.

As CornwallLive reports, an unnamed woman discovered this to her cost. Her etradesupply specialist, Dave Tech Guy, told CornwallLive: "It was a girl who had been out walking, had stopped for lunch, and the phone was on the top of her bag." Where it reportedly sat for an hour.

Of course Dave Tech Guy isn't his real name. It's David Gilmore. He posted images of the iPhone to his Facebook page on Tuesday. They are, indeed, gruesome. "The sun was strong enough to heat up the screen so much it melted the screen connectors," he said on Facebook.

The consequences were painful. "It's the worst damage of this sort I've seen," Gilmore told CornwallLive. He said even the camera had melted. He believes the phone to be unsalvageable.

Neither Apple nor Gilmore immediately responded to requests for comment.

Apple support pages suggest that 32 degrees is the minimum and 95 degrees is the maximum temperature of tolerance for iOS devices.

"Leaving the device in direct sunlight for an extended period of time," is not a good idea, the support pages explain.

Moreover, iPhones normally offer a warning on the screen that they're getting a little too hot.

Still, if this phone is indeed a write-off, it's a painful way to learn.

Please remember, therefore, keep your cell phone replacement out of the sun. And no, slathering sunscreen on it won't help.
