日本盤の帯には「NWOBHMの薫りと北欧の美しさが融合され、ドラマティックに叙情的に音が炸裂する。L・E・マットソン、日本デビュー・アルバム!!」と謳われています。古くからのHMファンにその名は懐かしいでしょうし、メロディアス・ハード好きの新しいファンには Lion Music の主催者としてその名が知られているラーズ・エリック・マットソンの1stは、異例の3種類のジャケットがあります。①がオリジナル盤で、②はジャケットが差し替えられた日本盤、そして③は Lion Music からの再発にあたりヴォーカルとドラムスが差し替えられたヴァージョンです。経緯はラーズ自身が③のライナーで語っています。
"Eternity" was my first album, originally released in 1988 in Europe and Japan. The recordings were of excremely low quality due to lack of money and knowledge. We recorded and mixed the album ourselves without really knowing what we were doing.
Even though the album was received well, I was always quite unhappy with the sound and some performances of it.
Since there has been requests ofr a re-release of "Eternity" I decided that the material would need a serious upgrade. This is why you are now holding a totally new version of "Eternity" in your hands. "Children of the Sun" is a song that should have been on the album originally buy somehow didn't make it. But here it is at last.
