違いが分かる英会話（動詞編）

This week we published a new book called 違いがわかる英会話 動詞編. My students often ask me questions like, "What's the difference between 'bring' and 'take'?" This book explains these difficult words that have almost the same meaning in Japanese but are different in English, like "fix" and "repair" (修理する）, "be able to" and "can" (できる）, "choose" and "select" (選ぶ）, etc.

Here is a little sample:
bringとtakeはどこが違うの？
bringは相手「開き手」を中心に考えて「相手の方へ持っていく」、また、「自分のところへ持ってくる」（こちらに呼び寄せるような感じ）ということです。takeは、自分「話して」から離れたところへ「持っていく」（外に連れて行くという感じ）を表します。

Could you bring me some tea?
子茶を持ってきてくださいますか。

Could you take him some tea?
子茶を彼に持っていってもらえますか。

例題
次の空欄をbringとtakeのうち適切な単語で埋めてみましょう。

1. Could you (    ) me that green book?
あの緑の本を私に持ってきていただけますか。

2. You can't (     ) that with you on the plane.
それは機内に持ち込みできません。

3. I think we can (     ) this on the plane.
これは機内に持ち込めるとおもいます。

4. When you come, please (     ) some wine.
来るときに、ワインを何本か持ってきて。

5. I (     ) my friend to the station and said goodbye.
私は友人を駅まで送って、別れを告げました。

6. Honey, don't forget to (     ) an umbrella to work.
あなた、会社に傘を持っていくのを忘れないで。

7. Maybe we should (     ) our passports.
たぶん、パスポートを持っていくべきです。
