Making a point using rhetorical questions
Rhetorical questions are questions that are asked without expecting a response because the answer is considered obvious. Some rhetorical questions are very specific to the topic, and some are very general and commonly used. How many cars do we need? What is consumerism?
ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
Consumerism, ladies and gentlemen, is the number one problem facing us today. How many cars do we need? We drive in cities that have multiple public transportation options. How big do our hamburgers need to get? We throw out more food than other countries eat. How is that right? We need to rethink our priorities. We must look beyond our own immediate needs and see those of the planet. We have to shift from our culture of excess to a culture of moderation.
