Russia's "space power" is Putin's illusion

Without Ukrainian parts, they can't even build rockets.
Russia's "space power" is Putin's illusion.

This time I would like tentatively to share the contents of the article Ms. Keiko Chino, one of prominent Japanese journalists, carried in the PRESIDENT Online dated March 22.

As economic sanctions are being tightened over the invasion of Ukraine, Russia is taking a counter-strategic stance in space.

It has effectively rejected a European satellite that was scheduled to be launched on a Russian rocket and has hinted at abandoning its mission on the International Space Station (ISS) in which 15 countries, including Russia, are participating, or has hinted at even the possibility of the ISS falling.

Russia, once a leading space nation, appears to be growing impatient and angry with China, which is steadily accumulating technology, and with space ventures such as the U.S.-based SpaceX, which is making great strides.

Russia's threats over space do not stop.
