"Feds after Google data", Jan. 19, 2006

"The move is part of a government effort to revive an Internet child protection
law struck down two years ago by the U.S. Supreme Court. The law was meant to
punish online pornography sites that make their content accessible to minors.
The government contends it needs the Google data to determine how often pornography
shows up in online searches."

"Google and Venter Mum on Collaboration Reports", January 18, 2006
http://www.bio-itworld.com/newsitems/2006/january/01-18-06-news-google
"Google and the J. Craig Venter Institute are playing down highly publicized
reports of a collaboration reported in a recently published book.
David Vise and Mark Malseed wrote in The Google Story, published in November,
that Google founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page and genome sequencer J. Craig Venter
had started collaborating in the area of genetics research in early 2005.
However, asked to comment on those plans, both Google and the Venter Institute
remained tight-lipped."
