Saving Faith

昨日は、正しい信仰に不可欠な知識について学びました。では、救いに至る信仰の残りの要素に焦点を当てていきましょう。

Yesterday, we looked at the knowledge that is essential for right belief. Now, let’s focus on the remaining elements of saving faith.

イエスがどのような方であり、何をなさったかを知るには、その事実が真実であり、私たちにも当てはまるという確信が伴わなければなりません。

Knowledge of who Jesus is and what He did must be accompanied by conviction that the facts are true and apply to us:

私たちは皆、神の律法を破ったことがあると自覚する必要があります。

私たちは、私たちのいかなる努力も神の恵みを得ることはできないことを認めます。

私たちは、イエスが世のために死なれ、私たちのすべての罪の代価を支払ってくださったことに同意します。

私たちは、イエスの死が私たちの罪に対する十分な代価であり、他に何も必要ではないと信じています。

私たちは、イエスが私たちの罰を代価として支払い、私たちに代わって罰に耐えてくださったことを受け入れなければなりません。

私たちは、キリストの贖いの死に基づいて、私たちが神の家族に養子として迎え入れられたことを信仰によって受け入れます。

We need to realize we all have broken God’s law.

We acknowledge none of our efforts can earn His favor.

We agree Jesus died for the world; He paid for all our sins.

We believe His death is sufficient payment for our wrongdoing, and nothing else is needed.

We must accept that He paid our penalty and endured the punishment in our place.

We accept by faith that we’ve been adopted into God’s family on the basis of Christ’s atoning death.

イエスが私たちの救い主であると確信したら、その信頼は行動によって示されます。新しく創造された者として（コリント人への手紙二 5:17）、私たちはもはや以前の自分ではありません。イエスは私たちの人生を支配する権威を持っておられ、イエスだけが私たちの最優先事項となるに値します。イエスは父なる神を喜ばせることをご存知であり、私たちの内に住み、私たちを教え導くために御霊を送ってくださいました。

Once we are convinced that Jesus is our Savior, trust is demonstrated through action. As a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17), we are no longer who we were. Jesus has authority over our life, and He alone deserves to be our top priority. He knows what pleases the Father and has sent His Spirit to live in us and teach us.

時間を取って、知識、確信、そして信頼の証拠を探し、自分自身を吟味しましょう。そして、真の救いの信仰を与えてくださった父なる神に感謝し、あるいはその恵み深い賜物を神に求めながら祈りましょう（エペソ2:8-9）。

Take time to examine yourself for evidence of knowledge, conviction, and trust. Then pray, thanking the Father for true saving faith—or asking Him for that gracious gift (Ephesians 2:8-9).
