◎ Jade Tablet - Apocrypha - 05-04 ◎ Dew of Heaven - 04 ◎ Before life was born, orgone energy flowed through the universe Wilhelm Reich, a modern American psychologist and scientist whose books were burned. Could his orgone have been what medieval alchemists called the dew of heaven? Colin Wilson's explanation while quoting a passage from Reich's book "The Ether God and Cosmic Life." "Before life was born, cosmic orgone energy flowed. When the meteorological conditions on Earth became suitable, life was born in the form of thin films of primordial protoplasm... These films evolved into unicellular organisms over more than a billion years. At this point, cosmic energy began to flow not only throughout the vast galactic universe but also within any tiny membranous substance." And the life born on Earth began a long, slow struggle. And finally, humans were born. "Little by little, man began to think beyond his close connection with orgone energy and his harmony with nature." But soon, man began to make himself the object of thought. Self-consciousness was born. From there, the fall began. "...in trying to understand himself and the flow of his energy, man began to interfere with that flow. And in so doing, he put on armor and deviated from nature. Alienation from his own core began, and the mechanical order of survival replaced, with overwhelming force, organic, unconscious, bio-energetic self-regulation." (Quoted from "The Tragedy of Wilhelm Reich" by Colin Wilson, Chikuma Shobo, p. 403) It is said that orgone is what you see when you look up at the clear daytime sky, relax your eyes, and gaze at the air, and you see countless sparkling lights swirling and dancing chaotically. At first, I thought orgone was *ki* (氣, vital energy) or *prana* (life force), but now I think it is more like the primordial substance of the kundalini energy cord that runs through humans. This is because, in the above quote, orgone energy is the cause that establishes self-consciousness, and the obstruction from one's own core seems to refer to detachment from self-consciousness at the causal body level. In other words, Reich seems to have seen orgone energy as something that operates not only at the etheric body level composed of *ki* and *prana* but also at more subtle levels beyond that.
