(1) Superlative sentence: 「Something/Someoneがいちばん～です」
(2) 「赤（あか）いのをください」(= Give me the red one.) Cf. 「赤いセーターをください」
[adjective+の] is used to avoid repetition: 「の」here substitutes the noun when it is obvious/clear to everyone in the conversation what you are referring to.
(3) 「そのかばんは私（わたし）のです」Cf.「そのかばんは私のかばんです」
[noun+の] is also used to avoid repetition in the same way as the 「adjective +の」.
(4)「～するつもりです」

Since it was only one student who made it to the class yesterday, we did a kind of private tutoring session.

* Note that you use the same form in B and E (affirmative "present perfect" and affirmative "simple past"), but you use different forms in C and F (negative "present perfect" and negative "simple past").

Summary: Lesson 9 (#6): 「～と言（い）っていました」(= using short forms in quote sentences) and 「～ている人（ひと）」(= 「～ている」is the short form of 「て＋います」to describe someone's activity or the result of a change (Cf. Lesson 7 pp. 136-137). This form is used to qualify a noun.)
